Just is just what I have been looking for - it is GREAT!
My laptop PC does not have an ethernet port, so I needed an adapter. This Atolla ethernet/USB hub combo exceeded my expectations. It works great. it not only has ethernet, but it has three USB-A 3.0 ports. I have connected my ethernet cable, a laptop cooling fan, a wireless mouse, and a USB stick. I tried both USB 2.0 and USB 3.1 flash drives and both work. The Logitech wireless mouse does not interfere with the USB flash drive. The ethernet connects fast. However, this adapter does not work with a slim USB external hard drive, but that is likely the fault of the laptop USB-C port and not the adapter - if I connect the hard drive directly into the laptop's USB-C port, it also does not work - so it is the fault of the laptop's USB-C port. I also tried this adapter in a USB-A port with the same result, except it did recognize a slim USB external hard drive, but it would not maintain contact with the PC - it would bling-blong all night long. So, it is useless for an external hard drive. Note, this same hard drive does work properly if connected directly into one of the the laptop's USB-A ports. Thinking perhaps the fan and wireless mouse plus the hard drive are just too much of a power drain on the port, I disconnected the fan and the wireless mouse - but the hard drive still bling-blongs over and over again. However, for my purposes, this adapter is great and solves my issue with this laptop. I connect the adapter to the USB-C port for those three devices mentioned, leaving two USB-A ports free for connecting two external hard drives so I can copy between these two backup drives. It does everything I need, and the hard drive issue is likely the fault of the ports on the laptop, so I gave this adapter 5 stars and bought a few more.

Works as expected, does get very warm.
This is an adapter...it adapts. Works as expected to plug a modem cable into my laptop. It is also a USB hub, so my external memory is plugged into it. It also expands my USB outlets from 2 to 4.

Not expensive but still give the extra you need
This gave extra ports that I needed work perfect

Works great with Firestick 4k
Works great with my new Firestick 4k. I have a thumbdrive, keyboard, and ethernet cable plugged into it. No setup needed. Speeds are faster than over Wifi. It is definitley capable of 1Gbps.My thumbdrive occasionally disconnects but I think that's the Firestick's fault. I also can't connect to other devices on my router. Again, I'm reasonably sure this is the Firestick's fault. Still working on it. Will post back if I find out otherwise. My keyboard/mouse combo lags sometimes but this is normal when it's near other radio signals. I simply connected a USB extension cord to the dongle and made sure it's hanging higher than the Firestick. Works great now.Make sure you're usng the right power cord, and don't use a low-power wall adapter or cable for the device that needs internet (use a fast-charging cable connected to a powerstrip for example.) My Firestick wouldn't even turn on when I used the wrong one.People complained about it getting too warm. That is to be expected with an aluminum device. It means the heat is escaping efficiently rather than staying inside. My adapter is never too hot to touch. That would indicate a problem.

I love this ethernet hub (turning on VPN made a big difference in consistency for me)
I bought this USB hub in Aug 2023 to use with a new computer that did not have an ethernet port. I prefer to use ethernet when possible. Shortly after starting to use it, I started having some internet issues. I have quite a bit of older technology and didn't know if the problem was related to compatibility issues with some of the older tech, or with the hub itself. At least all the USB ports on the hub worked great, but I work from home and need a solid internet connection.Observing a consistent WIFI connection one day with a VPN turned on, I decided to switch from wifi to ethernet and plugged a cable into the hub again and see what would happen. Voila! Since then, I make sure my VPN is turned on when I'm going to be online, and I've not had any issues with the ethernet connection through the hub since! For me, using a VPN has made all the difference when connecting via ethernet with this hub. (I don't think the hub required it, I believe it was either my computer or the security suite I use.) I just know that since I started turning on a VPN regularly, internet access has been solid.I love this ethernet hub! (and also appreciate the USB C adapter included as I've used that a few times.)

A very fast USB3 Ethernet adapter with a USB hub on the top of it.
Updated review after three years of using: OK. It worked so well that I've purchased another one for myself. However, after some time the Ethernet port started being unreliable. In the end, the problem was diagnosed that wired Ethernet works well only if I don't use any of the USB ports on the hub. That is happening even if I connected other devices through another powered USB hub. That happens despite connecting the device to the USB C port of my laptop. I originally purchased this combined USB hub and Ethernet adapter so that I could avoid the clutter and at the same time use only one USB port on my laptop but that no longer works.Original review for 5 stars: I purchased it for my son as his laptop does not have a built-in wired network adapter. Such an adapter is great for backups and disk content synchronization between a laptop and a desktop. In addition, his dual-boot Linux could not recognize his built-in wireless. This Ethernet adaptor is great. Not only it allows for fast data transmission but it is also recognized immediately both by Windows 10 and Xubuntu 18. It allowed downloading Linux drivers for the built-in wireless. Also, it can be used either with a classic USB "A" port or with the new small USB "C" or Thunderbolt. An even better solution would be to have a docking station. However, I don't want to compare an $18 small portable product with a $80+ larger box of a docking station that is not so portable. One could benefit from having both.
