Golf Women’s Strata Complete Set

-Overall Review:I bought the 14-piece set (teal) and I really like it! If you want a complete set and are genuinely interested in learning the game and getting better, I'd recommend the 14- or 16-piece sets but not the 11-piece.-Personal Background for Context:Mid-20s, female, 5'7, ~155lbs (clubs seem to be a good fit for my body btw). I had absolutely zero golf experience before I bought these clubs, but I've been wanting to learn for work reasons. I went golfing once or twice using rental clubs to see if I liked it. I did, so I went to a Dick's Sporting Goods and tried out their different club sets (most Dick's have golf simulators for you to try clubs). Then ordered the one I liked on Amazon. Although I had no golf experience, swinging the club comes very naturally to me because I played ice hockey and field hockey for 20+ yrs.-Pros:Honestly, I don't know exactly what to pay attention to but I think these clubs are pretty good! First of all, they are SO lightweight. I normally walk the course but am still surprised every single time by how lightweight my bag feels. I live where it's pretty cold so most of my golfing has been in ~45 degree weather. This bag has one pretty deep pocket on the back that I use to hold all my balls, tees, glove, etc. and then one very large pocket that runs the length of the entire bag. (There are other pockets, but I don't use them.) I stuff that long pocket with jackets and extra layers. Even so, the bag is still super lightweight! Second, the clubs never reverberate up my hands and sting when it's cold out either. Third, the driver has a pretty good sweet spot! I'm not very consistent yet because I'm just learning so I typically hit my driver anywhere between 180-210 yards. 8-iron around 115 yds. 6-iron around 150 yds. I would say I'm naturally very athletic but I still feel like those are some pretty good numbers for someone who is just learning and I would largely credit the clubs because I'm not even swinging as hard as I possibly can. Fourth, given how well my clubs have performed and the fact that this set comes with enough clubs for me to play a full course, I think this is a great package for the price. Finally, the set looks nice and I like that it's a stand bag because I walk.-Cons:I'm much better at hitting the 5 wood and 5 hybrid than I am my irons. Although I feel like I certainly have all the clubs I need in my 14-piece set to play a complete game of golf, I do wish I bought the 16-piece so that I could have more woods/hybrids in my bag. As I get better, perhaps I will grow to like my irons more. But it's a big jump to go from a driver to a 5 wood. I definitely think it would be helpful to have a 3 or 4 wood too.

This is the third set of clubs we have purchased of the same brand. It is the entry level product for callaway. The bag and Club covers are good quality and the clubs are just fine. We purchased all three sets as a gift for our friends who use them at their vacation home for guests

I've ordered two sets of these clubs now. The first for our son as an early birthday present so he could play with his buddies at work and the second for my wife. This is an excellent set to get you to start playing or practicing immediately. The quality is very good for the price. Had these been around when I first started playing golf I would have jumped at the opportunity to buy myself these.

I am a long time beginner golfer in my 70's. This is a light bag of clubs easy for me to handle. I am 5' tall and the size of the clubs are easy for me to use. My family has remarked how straight I am able to hit with these great looking clubs. Using the hybrids was a new experience, but I am learning to love them. The grips are comfortable and the quality is evident. The bag has easy access compartments. I have used the clubs for several months on a regular basis and I highly recommend this set.

As a beginner golfer who was borrowing clubs until I was sure this sport was for me, I cannot say enough of the quality considering the price. I looked at many sets and reviews and decided this was the best purchase as a beginner--all the clubs you need to start out with are there--this IS Callaway's affordable line with great quality--you can buy this set on their website. I am hitting straight more consistently, and love the lightweight bag, with rain cover, numerous side pockets for accessories and rain gear, snacks, etc. as well as outer loops, outer umbrella holder, ease of the stand opening and closing, and the backpack-type harness. For those who might have had an issue with a club, that can happen with any set, especially if you are starting out. Clubs will get a beating by us newbies as well as the pros, but lessons help a great deal. I highly recommend this set. Note that the product description STATES the number of pieces and explains what each piece is, so there is NO misleading information on the number of clubs, etc. that you're getting. I look forward to improving my game with this set, and then adding to it when the time comes. Good luck!!
