Good oil at a reasonable price
Used this make of oil for a few years now this is certified to for Vauxhall/Opel GM-LL-A-025, GM-LL-B-025 which is the long life oil (service intervals are extended using this type of oil) It's specific for Vauxhall (some Fords use this 5W 30 oil too but always go for the GM one)Being fully synthetic it delivers very good fuel economy and subject to proper servicing I've not had any engine issues on a number of cars I have owned. This is the oil to go for on most of the modern Vauxhall cars including Corsa/Astra/Insignia/Zafira (petrol and diesel) plus others but older 8 valve engines likely use 10W40 oil aka pre 2000 era. Like most cars you can use several types of oil but avoid bog standard mineral oil on modern engines it's just not up to the job and you'll suffer for fuel economy and engine protection. For a modest price premium fully synthetic oil offers better cold start protection and multi valve engines normally need thinner viscosity at running temperatures (lowest number is the viscosity when cold higher when hot) this is fairly thin oil which isn't a bad thing it moves around the engine easily protecting it properly.I tend to service before the 1 year standard interval or quoted mileage has been reached a minimum of every 12 months I would do this more frequently for city driving (every 9 months or so) Petrol (not diesel) ECOTEC engines tend to consume some oil so be sure to check the levels every 600/700 miles or so this is quite normal but take note if there is very excessive consumption. As Vauxhall are using chains rather than timing belts for many models the oil also lubricates this so it's important not to skimp on servicing it keeps the chain in good condition too.Pleased with the oil and can happily recommend it to others.
