As others have said, these light up for about five seconds or so. The grandkids are visiting and we got these for them to play with. You shake or smack them and then throw them in the pool...the torpedoes, not the grandkids...and they flash while traveling across the pool and to the bottom. Then the lights go out. The grandkids love them and they give them a little shake when they pick them up off of the bottom and they light up for them while they swim back up to the surface. I knew they were going to stay lit up for a long time so I got exactly what I expected and what was described. No complaints here. It's been a week of hours and hours in the pool and they are still going strong...that's both the torpedoes and the grandkids. Man, do they have some energy...that's the grandkids I am talking about here. :-)

Totally fun for when the sun is low and the kids want to swim! Not sure how long the batteries are gonna last, but fun for now!

My bad. Thought they were self-propelled. Thought they would be silly fun in a hot tub. Cute, but don't really do anything or stay lit long.

My granddaughter and friends have a great time playing with these in the pool. They throw and dive down to recover them. Great value for the money.

For me the lights go out to quickly. Not to mention you have to hit them hard a couple of times so that it can turn on. If they lit longer it and it didn't go out so quick it would be worth it. I would not recommend using the blue as it can be hard to find in the pool

Our grandson loves these for tub play and non tub play. Only had them a week though and one isn’t working.
