I use this for spraying my models mainly and have to say it is a great asset.
A very good product for the money which comes with an additional layer of protection which can be easily filled once unpacked. The additional layer does not do much to filter additional fumes as it does not fit completely over the filter, however, it will prevent paint or other particles becoming stuck in the filter itself, therefore, prolonging its life a little longer than without. The fit is good and I have found that I can get away with wearing both this and my Bolle protective goggles with ease.I use this for spraying my models mainly and have to say it is a great asset, happy shopping.

Airbrushing and General Purpose Needs
I have just received this product - hoping to try out after Christmas - for use with airbrushing acrylics indoors at low pressures. Many seem to think that because there is no 'solvent' (as such) and reduced odour (dependent on type of Thinners used) with acrylics that there is no need for the use of a Mask/Respirator etc for airbrushing. Sadly this isnt strictly true as the acrylic paint, is, in effect, plasticized particles, which, if inhaled, will be trapped in the body for life. In addition with some applications it isnt always possible to use a small/indoor Spray Booth as the work is to big to fit within so there is no extraction of paint fume/particles. Also, even when using a Spray Booth, when using/airbrushing at higher pressures, paint particles et al. can 'bounce' back and thus be inhaled that way too. I know that some 'airbrushers' have used the smaller, 'comfort fit' anti-pollution/city, cycling type masks, yet these are only rated at FFP1 and some users have reported that, when using higher pressures (airbrushing), they have noted that paint particles have either bypassed the mask or the filters in question (ie I paint particles were present when blowing ones nose), I wanted better than that, something that was comfortable and convenient in use.Having worked as a welder and having handled chemicals in the past, many years before health and safety really kicked in, I wanted to be and safe when using airbrushes for my hobbies (whereby the use of s spray booth is not always possible).I needed an all purpose mask, for dust and fumes, including spraying 'rattle can' aerosols (which have a solvent/propellant) in the garage/outdoors. I have other respirators, yet they can be cumbersome/awkward, with the cartridges sometimes obscuring vision etc. The paper type masks, although easier to wear and handle, never seem to provide a perfect seal around the face and thus let in fumes. This 3M Mask/Respirator seemed to fit the bill (with widespread great reviews), in terms of versatility and protection, I understand that it is widely liked and used throughout industry. To date, the supplier, 'Sprayguns Direct' has been very helpful in answering my questions and supplying the correct Mask/Respirator for my needs.I hope to write more, when I have used the product and tried it out in various applications/uses/scenarios.

Perfect
I used disposable masks before but needed something a bit more robust for fine dust from plaster. This works a treat. Comfy fit and nicely adjustable. Have worn for more than an hour straight multiple times. The valve means you don't stem up or feel like you are breathing your own air. Fresh. Nice.

Ideal for DIY jobs
I used this to protect myself when spray painting a few car parts. It seemed to do the trick. The advice I was given by a 'professional' was that if you can't smell paint fumes etc then the mask is working. Not sure how reliable that info is though. Only down side is that with it being organic is has a life span of 30 days or so which means you have to replace the filter.

No more harmful paint fumes!
I spray paint model kits (indoors) and have been using a cheap dust mask to protect myself from the harmful fumes and paint particles, but they don't really provide adequate protection. I thought it was about time I got a proper face mask designed for this type of work. This was a reasonable price for a quality bit of kit. It's comfortable and fits snugly with no air leakage yet still allows clear breathing. Best of all, it totally eliminates the strong smell of the paint fumes so it is clearly working as intended. It's worth paying a bit extra for something that does a proper job when you health is at stake.

Brilliant Product
This respirator is the best ever, we used it when painting some interior walls with an oil based paint which stated on the tin that the fumes were toxic, with the respirator on we could not smell a thing, absolutley brilliant, cannot speak too highly of it, highly reccomended.

Spot on
This is the best disposable mask I've used. After trying many different types, this one is superior because:a) It fits perfectly and doesn't bite into your noseb) The strap adjustment is easy to use and securec) I didn't struggle to breath in itd) My safety goggles didn't steam upI've just spent a weekend clearing old insulation and dust out of a loft and I'm really happy and pleasantly surprised with the performance of this mask.
