Delicious Dining Options I Never Considered Because of Acute IBS
I just received my copy of CALM TUMMY HAPPY HEART. The landscape of this book is an eye-catcher, full of beautiful Southwestern scenery and photos of dishes. These recipes are dishes that a person like myself with acute IBS can finally consider! The intro is well written and describes the same path I traveled over many years. It includes a careful description of the Fodmap gas-producing fermentation process (pg 13).I made three passes through the book. First checking out pictures of the beautiful locations and Southwestern dishes associated with this pepper-based cuisine. Second, a closer read of the entire book, I read through the insightful and supportive passages about the Fodmap diet and its benefits. My third reading, I truly appreciated the easy-to-follow recipes that laid out all the steps necessary to create these dishes at home. Stand out recipes for me?Cornmeal pancakes (pg 158)Grilled Green Chile Burger with Bacon (pg 172)Pa's Slow Cooker Shredded Chicken Breast that has lots of left-over potential (pg 76)This cookbook opens up dining options I could never consider.Dr. Abner Womack - Emeritus Professor

Not just for Fodies. Great recipes for all not just for FODMAT
Adding to my prior post ..just saw u-tube of this that was superb. If you haven't seen it, check it out! From what I've heard they may be doing some actual cooking in the future too. Book review: Loved the beautiful colorful layout and pics. Really liked that recipes can be used by everyone. Tasty, too, which is the best reason of all to add this to my collection.

Southwestern Fodmap Recipes with all the flavor!!
This is an amazing cookbook. Fantastic photos. Easy to follow recipes. Mouthwatering photos. It's a taste of the real Southwest cuisine - tacos, flan, chili burgers, chilaquiles. If you follow Fodmap, every recipe is delicious and full of flavor. You don't have to be on the Fodmap diet to fall in love with every recipe. What an outstanding book for every kitchen!!

Variations of the same Southwestern recipe
Very little creativity and variety with the recipes in this book. It wouldn't take much to get all the recipes certified by Monash as they are all pretty much the same thing. Every single recipe in the book is Southwestern. Every single one. As such, there is practically no variety. Certainly won't learn anything new. She mentions in the introduction that all the recipes are Southwestern, and she wasn't kidding. It should be in the title or somewhere on the cover.

Pay attention to the bottom of the front cover
I did not read the bottom of the front cover so I missed a very crucial point - Southwest - I don't ever eat southwestern food. If you are a lover of this type of food this is the book for you. I had to give mine to my daughter in law, who is very grateful.

10 STARS!!
Folks! Welcome to the newest "go to" cookbook of your kitchen! What a fascinating, informative, helpful, and truly delicious cookbook! Amy has presented us with a masterpiece, in so many ways. She speaks our language. She wears our aprons! She knows where we are at in our own kitchens. She relates to our eating and cooking worries, and puts us at ease with her cookbook. It is obvious she has done her homework here. She has included a complete accounting of her life's experience with diet intolerance and in this book, is allowing us to break away from that panic feeling of how can we ever enjoy food again, when suffering with digestive disorders. Well we can!! Creative, healthy, and healing recipes are all right here, in Amy's book. Once again, Amy "speaks" to us in our language. She is in the kitchen with us when we feel a slight tinge of panic and it's "Oh no, I don't have this, or that, or I didn't do it just like the book says"! Amy will give you a pass to making mistakes and you will feel like she's laughing along with you, and if you're not, you will be by the end of the recipe. She is real, her book is real, the ingredients are not impossible to find, and most of them are probably in your kitchen. You will feel like she is saying to you "I am coming in your kitchen with you. We are going to make this together. You are going to love it, and feel GOOD"! Her witty and clever sense of humor keeps it all light. Her and Jim's photography TAKES you to the Southwest. This book is a journey, a vacation, as well as your guide to feeling whole and normal again. When I got my book, I found myself in my kitchen eating breakfast and reading it, like it was a best selling novel! It is so much fun! That though is a bonus, because what we are really looking for is a way to eat that is enjoyable, and enables us to feel fine again. Get healthy again. This is the book. Also, you don't have to have a digestive disorder to love everything in it. Okay, so you already are feeling good?? Well there is nothing wrong with feeling that much better! Being healthier! I would also say this is an ideal gift for that chef or wanna-be chef of yours, or anyone that likes kicking around in the kitchen! Oh, do not miss the Rayado Ribeye Burritos (RRB's)!! Your friends will demand a weekly RRB Night at your house!! Have a Bizcochito (Page 240) kind of day! :-D
