Very happy, works great, looks good, does the job
If you have bought other Roland AIRA gear then this is an excellent mixer to go with them... I have the Roland AIRA TR-8, TB-3, Korg Volca Sample, Korg Electribe 2 (EMX2) and run Traktor Pro 2 as well as Ableton Live. The mixer acts as an 18in/18out soundcard with good ASIO drivers allowing me to stream 18 channels in and out of Ableton and record clips directly off my live gear. The effects are great for live use but for studio use you will probably be using VST effects in your DAW on each of the channels anyway.Roland have done a great job with this unit for live use but for studio you may find this to be a little noisy. There are definitely better studio digital mixers on the market b(Presonus im looking at you).Even though it has 18 channels in (or 9 stereo) you only really have 3 stereo inputs and the 4 aira link USB ports so you'll need to be clever choosing your hardware audio gear that you want to hook up to it. I'm glad I got it and its inspired me into making music again with hardware... sometimes a bit of limitation is what brings out creativity and I find hardware offers me this limitation while giving me hands on freedom to create.

Great piece of kit
This is some piece of kit. Took a little sussing out with the help of youtube as the manual is just a hard to read sheet of paper but great build quality and lovely machine. Got it connected to my Ableton and korg volcas at the mo but will be adding a TB3 soon.

My thoughts
Fantastic bit of kit that has integrated into my studio with ease. If you have any Aira gear then this is a must.... A+++++

So much fun! needed a mixer and was going the traditional route when i saw this. think of it more as an instrument. The mutes are excellent and although the FX can become cliched quickly...with a little restraint they can improve a live set no end.

Worth every minted penny!
Breathing piece of studio kit for the AIRA range. The Roland JDXI also plugs into the USB ports with the tb3 and vt3

Love it
I love this thing. I haven't done anything with music in years and wanted to get back into it. I was after a mixer I could use with Ableton Live but also something I could just use to connect a couple of keyboards to a pair of monitor speakers, that wouldn't involve any hassle. The MX-1 comes with Ableton Live Lite but I haven't even made a start with that yet because I'm having so much fun with the effects that come with the mixer. You can just press an effect button and it transforms the sound, giving new ideas and feeling like a performance. I haven't even scratched the surface of what this can do but as a beginner-all-over-again I am so pleased.
