I don’t see why not as long as you take the middle cover on the lid off before blending anything hot

Is the jar glass or plastic

The large jar is glass, quite heavy but easy to clean. My blender came with a smaller jar which is plastic .

Can it crush frozen fruit to make a thick smoothie bowl?

Yes it can as long as there is sufficient liquid in the jug to cover the fruit
