Q: I there a bottom to the insert? Or is it open at the base?

Well, it has a bottom but the insert walls are not attached to bottom / stuff slides out of a compartment into the other ... id like the bottom sewn to the middle part so it is really separated. It will suffice til i find a better one ... this could be improved Oh and itd be nice to have a little set of handles to pull it up out of pocketbook ... i have to take stuff out just to remove it as it has no tabs or pulls of any kind I don’t recommend/
