With a little bit of reading and patience this will work great for you
I picked this up to replace a defective clock that I had and decided I could replace my temp monitoring as well and do a single unit setup.I had left the prior temp system in place and it seems that it ran on the same signal as this unit as it was causing the time sync to not work as expected as well as temp being lost from time to time. Once I disconnected the old temp system it has worked without a problem at all.One problem I ran into was self inflicted as I had it in a location that received weather (sitting on a brick wall that had rain on it. The unit in the rain would randomly disconnect whereas the unit without the weather maintained connection without a problem. Once I removed it from the brick and hung it away from rain it has been running strong without any disconnection issues.System just works. Displays the stats that it mentions and you can adjust the various settings. I mostly left it in default. One thing I did learn is that I turned off the alert for temperature warning. It would constantly go off when it was cold rather than a simple alert once below the threshold until it reaches it again.Works solid and highly recommend to anyone that wants a start into weather monitoring.

It works very well
It seems that every 6 years or so I have to buy a new one of these because the remote sensor goes dead. I’m hoping to have better luck with this one. In fact, I bought the unit that has two sensors so i can keep one as a spare. Maybe I can go for a long time on this unit. That aside, Ambient Weather seems to be the premier maker of these little units for the home. I really have no problem with the quality and the instructions provided are much better than average being both instructive and informative. I did experience a minor annoyance with the unit scrolling through the two remote sensors I was not using. However, a brief tap on the Set button when the channel you want to receive is displayed locks it to that channel. I find that the unit is quite accurate and the forecasting function and the moon phase is just fun. I especially appreciate the barometric pressure reading which also shows rate of change and average over past time periods. Impressive. I highly recommend this unit. I’m sure youngsters who are science-minded will be very intriqued by this weather station. I’m happy I bought this station and I feel I will get a lot of use out of it.

Not Made in U.S. as Website Indicated
I am normally up and out by 3.30 a.m.and need to know prior to leaving the house what the conditions outside are to properly prepare and dress for the next several hours. Having recently replaced a years old and dependable unit with a new weather station (it was made in China), I was disheartened to find that the 48 degree temperature outside as recorded on the new unit was actually 16 degrees. There was two inches of ice on the pond to support the freezing temperature later broadcast on the radio and I was not dressed for that temperature.Virtually all other weather station units available on Amazon are made in China and look similar to the now discredited one I had just purchased. Wishing to avoid another China product I was delighted to find that on its website, Ambient claims that their product is made in Arizona U.S.A. The product sounded good and I try to support U.S.businesses.While Amazon's delivery was very prompt and precisely when the predicted it would be, I nearly sent the box back unopened. Clearly marked on the side of the merchandiser's packaging was 'Made in China'. I was very peeved! However, being desperate for accurate reporting I proceeded to set it up and program it. That process was extremely simple. It came with two outside sensors which is a huge plus. The Station has only been in operation for two days now and the temperature has not dipped below 35 degrees but I am satisfied. Right now the screen shows it is raining and it is. All the data is clearly displayed and as it is not battery operated it remains lite and readable from a distance. So despite its source I plan to keep it and hope for the best.

Nice weather station, but radio controlled clock feature doesn't work.
We purchased this to replace an old weather station with an LCD display that's become hard to read. This unit has a bright, easy-to-read screen, and lots of features. Our only disappointment is that we can't get the radio-controlled clock feature to work. It's supposed to pick up a radio time signal and use it to keep the clock accurate. At the suggestion of Ambient Weather technical support, we tried moving the remote units to different locations, but they don't seem to pick up the signal anywhere around our house. Our older weather station also has that feature, and it's clock has no trouble picking up the time signal.
