a great source to self-evaluate my kids and ourselves as parents.
I currently used the ideas in this book to guide my nephew who is smart but scattered, even though he is 20+. But this works for tween as well as young adults in their first few years of twenties, as I experienced and witnessed.Read many times to understand or materialize the skills in details and in action.

help them mature and be more productive. Not so scattered but improved focus
Teen who is very mentally active and loves doing so many things she Just leaves things undone and thus her focus falls to guide her to a better finished product and a way of achieving and setting better goals for herself. It works but you must work with them and guide and direct them and give plenty of praise. It's hard to change the way they handed it before they develop their teenage brain and the world is so crazy and fast paced. Worth the purchase and reading to help them get more together in High School and beyond!

Long and wordy but probably insightful
I wish I would’ve gotten some feedback on these books before I started reading it… It’s incredibly long and wordy but I can see that they are trying to get to some good points. I was just trying to figure out if it was better to read the kid book where the team back for a 12-year-old and I could not find any feedback anywhere I wish I would’ve gotten some feedback on these books before I started reading it… It’s incredibly long and wordy but I can see that they are trying to get to some good points. Great Resource!
I worked in a trauma-informed setting with high school students for two school years. I needed something in addition to what the school offered in the way of training and faculty support. Being left on my own to figure it out, I searched and read lots of reviews. This book and its companion rose to the top of my purchase list. I have yet to be disappointed in either of these selections.

Great Book, definitely recommend
I originally purchased this book to help me with my son with Asperger's, but very quickly realized it was about my oldest daughter. She had the same memory and executive skill weaknesses my youngest son with Asperger's showed. She was later diagnosed with dsylexia which definitely causes short term memory loss, inability to multitask, and frustrating answer's such as "I forgot". I recommend this book for any parent raising kids of any kind because all of mine exhibit some or all of the the behaviors. Some kids are forgetful by nature others by choice, but this book is a great read to work with all kinds of kids regardless his/her weakness. i still pick this book up and glance through the pages I've marked as a refresher.

Insightful book for parents
This book really breaks down executive functioning and teen behavior. The most helpful thing is the assessments that parents and teens can use to assess where they need to focus their energy.
