I purchased it for my grandson to take to college. It is the one he picked out after reviewing all others. It is now with him away at college.

Nightmarish QC make 1,000 dollars basically pointless.
My first gaming laptop, a spectacular value that's worth every penny. Keep in mind that the display flicker issues that are mentioned elsewhere on the internet are valid, but a) I personally stopped noticing since the issue only seems to occur when running the integrated graphics card, not the NVIDIA, and b) Lenovo will probably fix you up, no trouble. Powerful enough to run contemporary (Arkham Knight, Metal Gear Solid V) games at decent settings.EDIT: knocked this review down three stars because of a ver unique and frankly inexcusable issue.I have had this laptop for a little under a year. In that time, its overly complicated and angular chassis has completely torn itself apart by snagging the screen panels up and down the hinge. The screen has now fully stripped the hinge and nearly detached. As a result, it has lost its visual connection. The laptop still runs fine, however, as does the touchscreen control, as is evident when connected to an external display. Make of that what you will. Personally, this issue is so egregious that I'm not even bothering with Lenovo's notoriously poor customer service and going straight to Craiglist to salvage it.

- wide and noisy / + everything else
I didn't expect such a large borders around the screen, which make the whole laptop quite wide too. The cooling fan makes annoying noise even on very low performance. Everything else seems to be as I expected and I didn't run into any problems with display drivers yet.

Flickering Display is a common issue
Just received yesterday, and so far so good. This thing flies and can handle basically anything you can throw at it. I especially like the keyboard. Even though I've read some reviews that say it is not great, I'm a computer engineering student who types a lot at a fast pace and I really enjoy the feel of it.EXCEPT there is a flicker of horizontal lines or changing brightness that occurs often (googling around it seems its a common issue). Occasionally (about once a day) the screen will altogether glitch out or go black. I haven't had the time yet to reseat the display cable (this is apparently the fix) but its absolutely ridiculous that a brand new laptop comes with an issue like this. Also, like other reviews say the touchpad is garbage.EDIT: So I already have to send in this laptop for repairs. Lenovo support says this is a common issue (the screen flickering) and they are repairing it for free (as they should). Will update this review as necessary

Lenovo warranty is worthless
Screen started randomly flickering after about 2 weeks. Customer support tried to fix it remotely but they could not. I sent it back for repair at my expense. So far they have had the laptop for over 2 months. They are still waiting on a part and there is no ETA. I have called and they escalated the problem. The case manager was supposed to call me the next day (2 weeks ago). Didn't happen. I have emailed him 3 times. No response. If you are buying a laptop because you need it for school or for work, then this kind of a delay will not be acceptable to you. So you might want to think about whether you want to buy a Lenovo product. If you google "Lenovo screen flicker" you will get lots of hits. Sometimes it is software. Sometimes it is hardware. Anyway, if you like dealing with customer no service, then buy this product.

Four Stars
Awesome computer so its just a bit heavy which isn't a problem for me but it gets really hot when gaming. I strongly recommend getting a cooling pad if you plan on getting one.
