The best in the book is the wide quantity of examples, unfortunately it's not "totally international", since it limits the analysis to US and UK systems. It could be improved with a clear and explicit relationship between the exploration and explotation contracts and the accounting options for them.

This is the definitive work on oil and gas accounting in the international environment. Drs. Wright and Gallun clearly present the methods and usages of accounting procedures in upstream operations. This book is full of valuable information as well as the theories and reasons for how transactions are recorded.
