Too much cloves.
I don't know if I got a rogue batch, but it tastes so strongly of cloves that I felt like I had toothache. One for the oldies there. Spoilt what should have been a lovely chicken curry.

A good amount of heat, but still easily eatable.
A very nice curry sauce.A good amount of heat, without being overpowering. Slightly less heat than the Madras.Probably too hot for a non curry fan.Start them with a Jalfrezi or a Tikka Masala.Full of tomato flavou, but not sweet like a Tikka Masala.My favourite of the Patak curry sauces.I hope you found this review helpful.

I have to say we were disappointed. First of all, we received 2 jars that say "best before April 2023" on April 19, 2023. Then as I opened the jar it smelled like Rogan Josh, but it lacks the flavor. I can taste the spices but all together not flavorful. I knew it wouldn't be as good as the Rogan Josh from the Indian restaurant we love, but this was not good. The whole family was disappointed. Patak makes some good products like Butter Chicken sauce. I will not buy this particular item again as it's more expensive than other curry jars Patak sells but does not taste very good. But after all I'm Asian but not Indian. So I can't say if this is authentic or not.
