Q: What material is the beak/spatula made of?

The Ototo website says the spatula is made of plastic and silicone. The packaging says BPA free. I would guess the "beak" is made of silicone because it is soft and flexible and the handle is hard and rigid, so probably the plastic part of the spatula.

Q: Is beak of spatula fairly stiff and maintains shape or soft and pliable ?

It has some pliability but is firm enough to grab that peanut butter. Overall, I would say it is more soft than firm, but I do love mine. It has been a good purchase for our needs.
