Safe and Secure
The first one I ordered had a manufacturing defect: ridged suction pad on one side and simply would not stick. Money refunded with no fuss. 2nd order is superb. Installed on Dolphin Board shower wall. It is solid. Job done!

Dangerous product.
for the first 2 months they worked very well and since just keep falling off the wall making them very dangerous for anyone using them as you may not notice that the suction pad has come away and only a slight tug will detach it from the wall. A very poor product and considering it lasted only two months a complete waste of money. I had one attached to glass and one attached to a flat tiled wall. Avoid!!!!

Functionality
Although very strong suction power, has unfortunately fallen off few times. So couldn't trust to get it for an old person as can be a hazard

Proved to be a poor product and worse Company.
Grab handle for the shower. Easy to install, nice quality, good suction. After one month of use still satisfactory, and very reassuring in use.2 months later : Sadly, this morning it literally came away in my hand. It has never taken full weight as only needed for balance and reassurance, which it no longer does. Vive merely referred me to Amazon when I requested their advice. Regret can longer recommend.Having pursued the problem with Vive all I received in response was to stick the grab rail to a mirror to se if it would stick to that, if it didn't it would be defective. It came off in my and once again after a few days. Vive's next response was to tell me that 8 weeks warranty had expired. As it happens they are no longer selling this item via Amazon. It is not a company I would recommend dealing with.

Not something I would rely on
Purchased this for my mum who had broken her shoulder, but this doesn't really work as I needed it to.Easy-ish to install, but not strong enough, and slowly loses suction, so cannot be used without refixing each time.

Suction is very short term.
The build quality is good but suction power tends to quickly fade and doesn’t last 24 hours . I tried this on two different tiled surfaces, avoiding grout lines and was disappointed in both cases. OK for very short term use.

Leaves unacceptable rust marks on tiles
This is an excellent handle and does the job. However, you will see from the pictures the 'screw' head underneath has rusted badly and left marks on my white tiles (second picture). It has taken a lot of effort to get the rust marks off and they haven't gone completely. I cannot understand how someone can design a product, which is going to get wet, using steel screws that everyone knows will rust. This happened after my return deadline/guarantee, as rust doesn't happen immediately, so at just over a year I'll just have to throw it out.

A1 SUPERB SUCTION POWER
SUPERB suction power very strong and stable.I injured my back and was very unsteady but didn't want to drill into my newly fitted bathroom panels as they would only be temporary. It is excellent and gave me a lot of confidence in the bathroom.NB I tried this in my other bathroom which has panels with a very slight texture and they would not work. As the leaflet says they must be used on a SMOOTH FLAT surface. If you have tiles make sure they are smooth with no texture and they will serve you well.

Holds firmly on clean, smooth tile - Excellent product.
I bought four of these to assist my father-in-law with support in the bathroom. We have smooth 6 x 6 inch tiles throughout the bathroom including the shower stall. Being able to place them where they are needed is a huge benefit. As advised in the directions the surface must be absolutely clean and dry before applying it to the surface. The only time we've had an issue with the vacuum is in the shower due to some soap film and residue that we neglected to remove properly. I'll emphasize that the surface must be totally free of any residue or the suction cups will not retain their grip. Also, it's a good practice to assure the tiles are firmly in place and held on firmly to the wall. I found that after cleaning the tile surface and making sure it's dry, using a finger to glide and feel the smoothness of the tile surface (absence if roughness due to residue) helps to assure a tight and lasting grip. For safety, I always test each grab bar prior to use. Although the grab bars can retain a strong grip for a few day, I don't assume they are at full strength even if the indicator is green. It takes only a second to re-apply the vacuum on each suction cup with the levers.I'm very pleased with these grab bars. If you have smooth tile or plastic surfaces these are a functional and safe alternative to drilling holes for permanent grab bars. They are easy to grab and hold on to for the elderly. These 16 inch grab bars are sturdy and substantial and are a perfect size for my application. Get a few to add more flexibility and safety. Highly recommended - Just be mindful that a good seal is dependent on a clean, smooth surface.

Very Disappointed - Check Out the Legal Disclaimer - Must Be Reattached Every Few Days
I think this may be the first time I have ever given a product one star - and I have purchased A LOT of items on Amazon, and I have written many reviews.I bought the 16-inch grab bar to install in my shower because a family member will be having surgery in the next few weeks, and will be coming to stay with us. The walls of my shower are not tiled - it is a bath fitter liner, which is smooth and clean, so it should have been the perfect surface for this product. My daughter installed it, as she is stronger than I am. Several days later, while putting fresh towels in the bathroom, I noticed that the indicator buttons had turned from green to red - meaning it was not secure. I touched the grab bar and it came off the wall in my hand. I thought it was odd, and re-installed it. Keep in mind - IT HAD NEVER BEEN USED. It was installed, and no one touched it.A few more days passed, and again I noticed that the indicators went from green to red. I wrote to the seller, to ask if I was doing something wrong, although the instructions were easy to follow. They replied: "Our Grab Bar is made to be non-permanent. Actually, you are doing it right since you are checking on it from time to time. Reinstalling the Grab Bar every once in a while is also important to make sure that it is adhering to the wall securely. Most often, suitable smooth surfaces like glass, porcelain, metal, laminate, and acrylic will not allow air to leak and should hold the grab bar in place for days, if not longer."So... shouldn't it say prominently somewhere on this page that the bar is TEMPORARY and will not stay in place, possibly for more than a few days?! I re-read the entire page, and it does say, further down, under the "Legal Disclaimer" - The item should be removed and re-applied on a weekly basis in order to ensure a proper seal.I will keep the item, and I will re-install it every time it is needed, and remove it when not in use. I feel that's the safest way to use it. But, I just wish the fact that it needs to be re-stalled every few days was featured more prominently on the page and not hidden in the language of the legal disclaimer. Had I not noticed the change in the indicator color, this could have resulted in a very dangerous situation.

Don't want company in the tub?
Well, here it is, 6 months and who knows how many showers later, and the Grab Bar seems to be giving up the ghost! It has fallen off the wall 3 times in the past week, usually at a time that scares the heck out of whoever is home! It HAS been properly installed and re-installed, and still it continues to loosen and fall. I shall be inquiring of both Amazon and the vendor as to their advice. So, before you buy this now, you might want to check and see if it has staying power for your shower.Hold it! Literally, I mean! Don't make the mistake of thinking "I won't be the one naked on the tub floor when the central casting hunky EMTs come through the bathroom door!" You might be. Unless you order a couple of these and install them (super easy) in your shower. Very sturdy, very solid, very strong, just like the EMTs, but much less embarrassing to share your bath time with. Just clean the surface well (I used rubbing alcohol) and be prepared to put some real weight on the suction area while you snap the lever that "installs" the device. Someone with less strength might need a bit of help. This is a very reassuring product, especially with your eyes closed because of all that shampoo! Order two...one to hold getting in, one across the way for inside-the-tub maneuvers.

Holding strong
We purchased this for my 80 year old mother to use while visiting. She told me she needed something to hang on to while showering. Keep in mind she is small framed, about 5’2 and weighs maybe 120lbs. We researched a little online and a couple medical stores to put in a permanent railing, we were shocked at the cost not only for the bar, but to have someone install a handicap bar alone was over $200. So after everything I think it was going to be $350-500, so here we were looking for an alternative. Not to mention, a permanent structure damages your shower walls and can’t be easily removed. We purchased this one & put it in November and she used it for 8 days while in the shower. It held up excellent! It did not shift at all. We still have it up over 3 months later, it has performed well. Keep in mind no one else has showered in guest bath since November. I check on bar when I clean in there, and it still feels secure. It is a really short bar. My mom saw it and was worried she didn’t have enough bar to move around. So in hindsight we should have bought two. Maybe company will come up with a larger bar. No wall damage.Update: shortly after this review it popped off wall and won’t stay adhered to wall, so maybe 4 months stayed up in unused guest bath.
