Bought and hate used already. It works as stated and great for when I need to use white corn meal on o occasion, Glad to have it on hand. because it bakes up wonderfully. The self rising is a huge help to me.

My package of Martha white corn meal mix arrived last night and when I opened it the package was bust open and corn meal was all over the bottom of the box. 14 dollars and 99 cents for a 5 pound bag of corn meal. 😡

Good flavor and easy to use.

When I was a little girl my mom would make cornbread from scratch, buying corn meal and adding a little of this and a little of that. She baked it in a cast iron skillet and it was so delicious with beans or stewed tomatoes. Mom passed in 2008, before I could have her teach me how to make cornbread. Fast forward 12 years and I finally asked my Granny, my mom's mom, how to make cornbread. Granny is the originator of all things yummy. Granny's biscuits ruined me for any other biscuits anywhere (mom's were equally as good, since she learned from Granny). So when I asked Granny about cornbread I was kind of surprised to find out she no longer made it from scratch. She told me to buy Martha White Cornbread Mix and some buttermilk, which I did. Much to my surprise this cornbread turned out pretty darn tooting good! I didn't even have a cast iron skillet, but the bottom still turned out crispy.This has been my go-to for cornbread and Granny's too, but recently Granny has had a hard time finding it. I can get it where I live, 1000 miles away, but she cannot find it in the store where she lives. I can buy this from Walmart locally for $2.58, but after I paid for shipping, it would be almost as much as this was on Amazon (not to mention the aggravation of packing cornbread mix and taking it to the post office).Granny is worth it. I would never buy expensive cornbread mix for myself, but Granny is worth it.
