The box doesn’t say they are, coming out of California I’d guess they’d be required to say so; I’m about 99% sure they are no where near peanuts or anything else, slight possibility they pass by almonds

No, they are not. I don't put much stock in what is labeled as 'organic'. They are fresh, juicy, and sweet. That is all that matters. I've bought them before, love them, and will continue to buy them.

when is the best time to order these dates and how do you store them?

I don't know about the best time to order but I kept them in zip lock bags in the fridge for about a month they were hands down the best dates I ever bought
