Exactly what I wanted.
This worked out perfectly for me. I have had two Petsafe doors previously. The newer one (23 yrs old) I accidentally left behind when I last moved. I didn’t remember the brand and was confronted with a dazzling array of doors. I was quite a job finding a small opening on,the smaller of the two heights WITH a flap cover. I was so delighted when it came and was a Pet Safe. It is almost identical to the prior one. There is an improvement. Previously the doors had a SLIDING panel on to to adjust for heights the new design has this but it is spring loaded and a bit easier to fit in. I have never used weathering stripping or hardware with these doors. I out the door in,the track and close the slider then use a piece of wood behind the slider. This door is perfect. The first petsafe door I had cost $100 40 years ago and was not as nice (but just fine) as the two subsequent. I don’t know what I paid 23 years ago but this door cost less than twice the cost 40 years ago. I consider that a bargain.I have two cats. One has a lot of pet door experience. He went right out then spent some time outside staring at the door as if thinking “how did I miss this all this time?” The other cat has no experience but has often learned things from the more adventurous cat. Have high hopes. Finally this door says up to 15nlbs. My cat that has used it is quite large at 17 lbs. He had no problem slipping through.

Wonderful product, works very well.
Very happy with this! It has saved me from endless hours of dogs spazzing out. Now they can run right out and deal with those antagonizing squirrels. We didn't want a permanent item and actually remove the entire unit when we want full range of the sliding door or when we will travel. We, therefore, chose not to screw it in, but appreciate the hardware to do so. The cover for the doggy door works well too while the panel is installed.

Fits nicely and looks great.
I got this 4 days ago and it was installed quickly. Took maybe 30 minutes and that was with us messing up a few times and adding an extra step to add a piece to make it lock. The girls are finally using it without prompting them today and they love it. We don't have the flap down currently. We are letting them get used to going in and out then slowly lowering the flap so they can be worked into it as they are scared of a lot.Instructions are ok.The only thing I wish is it had a better lock and a stronger support where it connects to the door. I'm afraid it will break if the door is shut too hard. The support could easily be added in a way that stops the screen from shutting too far blocking off the dog door and not leave a gap. It would add a good strength to it.The lock we added a bracket to the panel and it lets us use the original door lock for the sliding glass door

Still satisfied after all these years
I purchased this pet door in 2018. The door is well-made. I don’t think I’ll ever have to buy another one. Today is the third time I have had to replace the flap. 4 years per flap with 3 dogs running in and out all day is not bad. Still very satisfied with this purchase.

Helps A TON! So Glad!
I am SO glad I finally bought this! I was really worried I was about to spend almost $150 on a piece of junk but I am so glad I took the chance.I live in apartment with two cats. We prefer to keep their litter boxes outside and leave our patio doors open all the time to allow them to go in and out at their leisure. It drives me nuts that this is not safe. Not to mention in the winter and summer I either freeze or sweat in order to avoid paying heating and cooling costs! I finally decided I'd had enough.I will admit that when I was reading the reviews for this I was thinking to myself, "There is no way it's that easy to install." And I wondered if the reviews were written by the sellers. But I decided to go for it. The instructions and all the stuff it says on the box will fool you into thinking it will be difficult but it's so crazy easy! I had no trouble at all! It literally look me less than 10 minutes! My aluminum sliding patio door is about 78" in height (from top to bottom on the inside track) and the *medium* size fits in just perfectly. I used the weather stripping included to form a seal. I cut the excess off and it looks okay. I didn't do the best job of that because I placed it before I cut it, so it works fine but it doesn't look beautiful. It comes with accessories and things for added security, but since we do not own our apartment I chose not to add those. That's why it was so easy and simple to install. I'm going to use the *Wedgit White Mini Twist Tight Adjustable Sliding Window & Door Lock* or the *Master Lock 265DCCSEN Dual-Function Security Bar* to keep the sliding panel from opening.Just to say though, I have this installed on the inner door where the sliding door opens and closes. I also have an outer screen door that this thing is barely too big for. I tried it and this DOES fit (it's just a teensy bit unsteady) in the screen door part. BUT I decided to put it where it's supposed to go because I can partly shut the screen door to disguise the pet door. I live in an apartment which is not on the ground floor and from the ground and stairs at any angle you cannot tell there is a pet door installed. It fits so great with my other door and is hidden by the screen (it's barely open, just enough to allow my pets to pass through) that you can't tell it's there. Before, you could tell I had my patio door partially open. I feel sooo much safer now that you can't tell my door is open!Speaking of safety, this comes with a doohickey you slide down to block the entrance. You don't have to take the door out to do it. You slide it down over the flap in these little guides on either side and it has a magnet thing that holds it in place. For privacy, if you're worried about that, there are spray paints out there for glass which make it look frosted and you can buy stencils and things to make a pretty design. I've seen people use special paints to make a pretty glass mural, use stencils to fake stained glass, etc. I've also seen people use those big sticker things people usually put on their walls on the glass, or contact paper. Or even pieces of lace glued to the frame. There a ton of ways to DIY this to make it look custom made or match your own decor. There are spray paints which are for metal you could use on the frame if you wanted! The weather stripping and the magnetic flap do a great job of keeping out drafts, but my cats hate the flap so we tend to keep it flipped up for them. We tuck an edge of the flap into the groove meant for the security doohickey and it stays pretty well.I have plenty of room to walk past it (I'm an average sized female and my husband is on the slim side, but we have a ton of room) and it stays just fine even if the other door isn't there. It's stable all on it's own and doesn't need the other door to stay put. The full width of our sliding glass door is about 70" and the half of the door which can be used is probably about half of that maybe? With the pet door installed, it's plenty of room for one person to walk through comfortably.Super easy to remove, especially if you don't drill to add locks and stuff. Snaps in and out. So I can take it out easily if I move, or for going out of town, etc.I'm a short woman who cannot lift super heavy things. I do a lot of the DIY type stuff around my home, fixing things, building things, etc. My husband can, but he works a lot so I don't like to trouble him unless it's something I don't trust myself to do. I was able to lift and install the door with zero help. The box is very tall and a pain, but that was the only difficult part!
