Stetson Hats Mountain Sky Wool Hat

There's lots of good in here, but starting with the bad so read thru it lol. So the first hat I received was not packaged well. The shape was off and the inner liner's stitches were popped halfway around the brim. I reported it and requested a replacement same day received. They sent a replacement ASAP even before confirming receipt of the return. Not the best experience spending this amount for a hat and getting one that was obviously a return from a previous customer. But they made it right. The replacement was perfect. Shape, quality, everything. Lightweight, not too hot in the heat, keeps your head warm in the cold. water resistant too. I even rolled it up and put in my backpack (like the video) and pulled it out later...popped right back into shape as advertised. I've had tons of compliments on it. Stetson really does make great quality hats. I'm very happy with this hat and glad I purchased. It will last me many years to come.

What a great hat. I've had a DPC (Dorfman Pacific) hat in this style for 15 years that I replaced with this; the old hat was $40. The difference in quality is remarkable and immediately obvious. Based on my head measurement, I could have gone either way between a medium or a large; I decided to go with the large but I ended up using sizing tape around nearly the entire circumference. If you're head is "between" sizes, I'd suggest going with the smaller option. The color isn't quite as brown as I would like; I found the acorn color to be something between brown and khaki, with a very slight green undertone. Also, Stetson states that this hat includes a feather in the band but my hat did not; not that this is a deal breaker. While this hat is crushable, I found the felt to be fairly stiff. This might soften over time but, I get the sense that this hat will retain its shape very well and could easily be treated as a non-crushable hat and look great for many years.

Another nice fitting, nice looking hat from Stetson at a good price. Gambled on the hat online here, glad I did. If you like these hats you always have use for a brown one like this. Feels good on the top of my head, keeps the sun and rain off. Update: I like this hat and replaced the band with a different hat band, which is always an option and more should personalize the hat with something special that makes it REALLY yours. Your statement of being smart for buying the hat which is underpriced. Customers should think about the inevitable choice of making a easy huge improvement for a few extra dollars. I have a couple of choices for a couple of hats, just due to the fact I know exactly what is going to rock my look the most/best. Like my two Bozemans, one has a conchos decorated black leather band on the rather plain black hat. But the hat has such a cool shape and fits so good. I glued a certain band to one, studs shaped a little like diamonds, made of metal and chromed. Sharp, extra sharp touch. Similar in a way to this one that has a few. I leave one in the truck in case the one Im wearing gets blown off or I forget the one primary daily user. It is the coolest way a hat can be improved.

January 2016; ordered 2 identical hat. One for me; one for husband; size large (even though my head circumference measures 22 1/8, because I don't tolerate a tight hat). My husband, who wears a 7 1/4 in a Stetson, tried on both; one fit smaller. So I tried it on and it was a bit loose for me; I have long hair and if I tip my head upside down, of course, my hair falling forward will take the hat off with it. I can't speak as to a windy day, but I'd likely have to hold it on to keep the hat. That smaller hat was also the one that had slight puckering around the base of the crown where the hatband was; made it appear that the hatband was fitted on too tight. Oddly, this one also smelled of mildew; inside, outside, also the inner headband. We returned this one with no hassle. The other hat was perfectly fine, looked fine and smell like clean wool. For my husband, the large fit just a smidgen loose, but stays on fine. He's counting on the other reviews being accurate in saying that once the hat gets wet, it shrinks just a smidgen.
