Gaming console
This gaming console is a light blue colour and has a very similar design to the older gaming console like the Gameboy. The console comes preloaded with around 800 pre installed games loaded on to the system. Some of the games work better than others, but they are all really fun. This game console gives me such nostalgia. It's a really blast from the past. I would highly recommend this this for any gamer. It would make a lovely gift.

Great console.
My 6 year old loves this as he can play the super Mario games. There are loads of games on here. It's similar to the shape of a Nintendo switch. Charges well and is a good price. Only negative is it always go back to start ( where have to choose language) after play a game but that's not an issue as you just go back to thr list of games.

Easy fun
We love playing old retro games, so this console was perfect. Of course once the kids saw mum and dad play some games they joined in and found they actually enjoyed old school games ;)Good console, easy to use and batteryonce charged last a good while. All in all happy with this and at a reasonable price.

More for a retro fond adult than today's kids
Decent sound and graphics if a little small but the screen is quite clear. Volume adjustment but no brightness adjustment. It has 800 games, all of which seem to be 80s and 90s 8-bit style but many of them are generic side scrollers which are almost all the same except for the character graphics. There are a few recognisable names sprinkled in, such as Galaga, Pacman and Galaxians which all seem genuine and games I wanted to play again. There are quite a lot of Donkey Kong and Mario mentions and some other known names like Batman, Tetris and Friday The 13th, Ninja Turtles, Dig Dug, most of these look like the kind of thing you would get on a Spectrum or a Commodore 64. Whether or not this would appeal to today's kids is not certain because phones and handhelds are very sophisticated these days but for someone who was around in the 80s and had a C64 I have found this really entertaining. With 800 games it's going to take a while to find what are the decent ones. So far I've found quite a lot that I've tried for a couple of minutes but have been uninspiring or unclear how to play or what even the point of them are. My two gripes. 1) Every time you leave a game you have to select English Or Chinese as your language again before you can get back to the games list. 2) There's a cable to connect to a TV but it is phono connectors, video and 1 audio. I've not seen a TV in a while with phono inputs and even then with only 1 audio channel sound is going to come out either left or right speaker but not both. What with the very minor gripes, possible lack of child appeal, quite a lot of not worth it filler games I'm knocking a star off. It's exactly what I expected because there's a lot of these about and it does include some games I like, I just wish there was something impressive. I would have given 5 stars for less games of higher quality or anything at all that makes this stand out above the rest. Over all I'm happy with it.

Childhood memories
This was such a breath of fresh air & was so nostalgic for my household! My husband & I were of course super excited as 80's babies so many games of our childhood are on here. The graphics are classic! Easy to hook up & get straight to playing tons of games. We haven't even gotten to even the first 20 games because there are so many to scroll through but by time you scroll you find another great classic to play. My 5 & 4 year old love the chip n' dale games & with the two remotes they both can play on multi player. Pac man is of course legendary, TNMNT, Galaga & just to many to name! Battery life is lasting, very small & portable. Better fit rather than the big & bulky Grey console boxes that have less games on them for almost $50-$100.

Fun way to play some old favorites
This does have some old favorites like Contra, Adventure Island & Mario but is also lacking some, most notably Zelda. For the price I didn't expect that it would have all the games I was looking for but after scrolling through, I recognized about 30 of the 800 titles and on some of the games I don't recognize I cant even figure out how to get started. It seems like they have a few screens full of the most popular games then everything else is in alphabetical order so you can scroll through to see if you can find what you are looking for. I found Castlevania 2 but all the writing was in Cyrillic language that I can't read so it was only of limited use.The best feature is that the contra games have a submenu where you can pick different modes from the 30 life code to starting on different levels and starting with different weapons. If you are looking to relive your Contra childhood, this should give you your fix. There is no way to navigate backwards so if you pick the wrong game you need to reset and start from the beginning.I have not tried connecting to a TV to play 2 player mainly because I can't get to the back of my TV without a lot of work and even though the cord is about 10' long, that still puts me too close to the front of the TV.Overall, I think its good for the price, its not perfect but you should be able to find enough games that you remember and provide hours of fun.

So much fun!
If you are into the old retro games, this is for you. It even looks like an old controller. It’s so cool looking. You can use it hand held, or you can hook it up to a tv and use the retro controller. Comes with a battery and is usb rechargeable. It has 800 games, many of which I have never heard of, but a lot that I know very well. Immediately got hooked on Tetris once again.Got this for a long trip. It will definitely keep me entertained!Retro gamers will love this. Those high quality life like graphics people, probably not so much. But I’m a fan!

800 Games? Not hardly.
The Higoal Retro handheld game console works and has a rechargeable battery. That is a plus, for sure. The display is okay, but looks better if you can position it at an angle, which improves the contrast. It is a color display and has some notable games, like Super Mario Bros, Contra, Batman, Pac Man, and more. I am not sure what the licensing agreement is on some of these, but here they are. The sound is okay and has a volume wheel to control it. It has the standard retro game controls on the unit, and this is where it's problems begin. They are not very good, but this is a low cost console. It comes with connectors for a larger screen, and if this was pre-2005 or so, they might even work, but I have no way to test this on my 4K Samsung TV. Most games are 2-player, which might be okay, if you have one of those pre-2005 4x3 TVs. It comes with an extra controller, just for this 2-player action! It plugs into the micro USB that is used for charging the unit. You just have to be able to see the controller if you are player 2. And, the controller only works for player 2.Issue 2 is the menu and number of games. The menu goes on and on and on, up to 800. There is no search and the games are not listed in alphabetical order, well sometimes they are, but then the menu skips around. Good luck finding a particular game. Also, if you play a game and restart, the menu goes back to the beginning. Also, there is no save feature. Deja Vu! That takes me back further than these retro games! I am referring to you, Atari 2600! Oh, remember that headline? 800 games? The menu goes up there, but some (many) games are listed more than once, so not 800 games. 400? 500? Who knows for sure. I am too old to list and count them to get a better number. In conclusion, the unit works as a handheld, with no big screen connection, except in your basement with that retro 4x3, pre-digital, TV. The games play. The controls are not good. And, I still suck at platform games. So, you get what you pay for? Should I raise the stars from 3 to 4? Maybe.

Fun Handheld for Classic Games
The Retro Handheld Game Console is a great way to reconnect with the games of your youth. This emulator has classic Nintendo and Atari games like Super Mario Bros, Contra, and Donkey Kong. It works well as a handheld. You can even connect the second controller to play two players but it is hard to see on small screen. I enjoy the simple game play and nostalgia. My son was able to try old games he has only heard about. It really does have 800 games including ones only released in other countries. It comes with an antiquated RCA cable to connect to a TV. I was only able to find one TV in our house that still had this connection. It did work but the colors did not look good. I would not recommend it for TV use due to the outdated connection. I do recommend it as a handheld and fun way to pass time.
