Fun but a bit fragile
Our seven year old got a huge kick out of these. He loves transformable toys, and he is a big fan of critters. Scorpions and praying mantises rank high on his list of favorites. So, it’s not terribly surprising that this set was a win right out of the box.He was able to squeeze a few days of play out of these before the he accidentally broke off one of the mantis arms. Normally, I’d just chalk it up to him playing too rough with the toys, as seven year olds are known to do, but, after more closely examining the toy myself, I don’t mind saying that the figures are a bit rigid and fragile at what would otherwise be expected to be movable joints. He was a bit disappointed, which never feels great, but he still plays with and enjoys what remains of the figures.Overall, I’d say great idea, but might need some improvements in durability to truly be appropriate for the 3-7 year range.

Great for our purpose
We used these in a tabletop game and they worked perfectly for our purpose. They are a little creaky when transforming them and it definitely feels like you need to be a little gentle during the reposing, but overall these are really cool looking figures. They are striking sitting out and the transformation is really cool.As a toy for a child, they are likely a little expensive for the durability. I imagine kids would accidentally break these pretty easily.

For older collectors or display only
Hmmmm… interesting items here. They each come in their own plastic box so they can be displayed. However the box doesn’t lock onto the bottom. The clear top simply sits on the black base. Honestly, a kiddo probably won’t clue into the whole display box especially since it’s fragile and doesn’t stay together. The toys remind me of a marriage between a hot wheels car (die cast metal) and a transformer (plastic). The colors are great. There is some chrome on the metal and colorful transparent plastic portions. Why in the world are there no instructions? It’s not intuitive although I think it’s easier than a true Transformer. The pieces aren’t as complicated and often only go one of two ways. After I realized there were no instructions I went back to the ad for help. It’s only slightly helpful. Even the video doesn’t show you step by step so I was clumsy getting through the transformations. Even true Transformers come with a little instruction sheet. The quality. That was the biggest question in my mind. I have to say upon first glance it’s pretty good. Even the true Transformers these days are thin, cheap plastic. But many of their jointed pieces can be removed and reattached. These cannot. A break would be the end of the toy. You have the combination of materials on each figure. The joints are a little stiff and I do not get the feeling they can take too much abuse or movement.Due to the materials and more delicate quality, I would say the older the child, the better. Limited movement and even just displaying is going to be best for this set. Also I couldn’t get my scorpion to stand on his own. He was too top heavy. With limited or no instructions, I did the best I could based on scrutinizing the photo’s.I think this set will intrigue those interested in insects and Transformers. It’s a unique concept and not awful to change between. (Once you figure it out.).

Very cool set
My Traansformers-loving daughter assures me that these are "skibidi" and that she needs more. They are made of acrylic and actual metal, and transform very easily from bug to vehicle. The colors are jewel-like and they look great in either form. They have become a regular part of her toy rotation, and definitely are a little more striking than her regular Transformers. Great gift idea!

Instantly broke
Very disappointed. I had high hopes at first, as the figures arrived packed well and in re-usable display cases. However, upon opening them, the mantis broke immediately when I attempted to move the arm. I expect this is at least partly due to the fragility of the translucent plastic. Beyond that, the combined mode didn't work great and the transformation was lackluster compared to comparable figures.

Pretty paint work, but I would not value over $15.00
So the paint work is beautiful with the metallic use. And I do like the translucent plastic, though I know that will probably mean as fragile in the long haul. Articulation is minimal. What would be the robot shoulders you have ball joints. No elbow or further arm articulation. Each of the two robots has articulation at the hips and knees, partly due to transformation. For the price point, something like this in legend scale should have further transformation in the feet to help with balance as well as more articulation in the limbs. The mantis doesn’t have any arm transformation at all. So you literally have mantis legs for hands. And the scorpion would do well to at least have one other hinge on the length of the tail to make it more versatile. The combination mode is very weak. It only looks good from a particular angle and consists of two pegs going into two holes between the bots. These are advertised as built for heavy play due to the diecast. The diecast is only on the wings of the mantis and the back of the scorpion. It is very minimal and I would not trust the item to not be somewhat fragile. But again, it does have a visual pop to it. The yellow stripes on the chest of the mantis were out of alignment. Price point is the biggest weakness in terms of overall quality. Again, I would say $15 tops is all I could justify out of this and even that would be a stretch.

Great Toys!
My son who is 7 absolutely loves these toys especially the Mantis it is his favorite! Now he hasn't transformed them but honestly he doesn't really care to he enjoys them exactly how they came out of the box. If your kid or kids love bugs then you definitely should get these but the price point should be lowered as the quality i think does not justify the big price tag.
