36" Side mount post: These are amazing. Easy to install. They look seamless and fantastic. Everyone that visits my house and sees them ask where I got them.I wanted the cedar look over the black handrails. This system let's you decide. The side mount opens up so much more room on my patio.

5 star, but read the following - IMPORTANT!
First off - the posts are weel made and very sturdy. Holes are have no burrs, top is solid, and bottom has a plug (keeps the Yellow Jackets out). Now a few warnings and tips:DO NOT USE the supplied lag bolts. They are NOT compatible with the treatment off our deck joists, and the will deteriorate quickly with little or no warning. For real. They are zinc clear plated, and the pressure treatment will eat right through it. Use fasteners that are certified for deck applications in treated wood. These are small head torq screw. Put a FENDSER WASHER under them to prevent pull through of the fastener. In addition, there are silicone washers that are torpedo shaped and split much easier to install, and you can add if you miss one (like that ain't gonna happen;-)).All in all, we mounted 45 posts and ran the wire in one day. We had to pause because the railing did not arrive in time. You have to mount and tighten the rails before tighten the wire. We did 1/8" wire - it is more than strong enough, and is nearly invisible. The black posts, which I didn't want, have actually turned out better than I though, and act as frames.Last point - contacting customer service is a waste - they are very nice, but in China and they just want to say nice things and don't have any real answers. One final thought - the 'covers' for the mounting holes are stamped stainless (304 I imagine). for BLACK POSTS? WTF?other than all that, they are excellent posts.Note - I did several structural analysis of the screws we used (5/15x3-1/2 GRK), and they met code (greater than 200 lbs at top of post) for strength in the most simple, unsupported FMEA. It was a withdrawal for one screw. Given the additional support of the second screw and railing, I have no doubt these are a safe application. Just remember the screws and fender washer to distribute the load under the head and prevent the distortion of the post. All in all, exceedingly happy with these.

Screws are too short in length and angle with washer makes you cross thread when tightening it
Screws are too short in length and Angle washers are too thick. When assembly the screws get easily cross thread. There is a super fine line between length and tighten along with angle of screw to catch the internal nut system to tighten, without washer it goes on easily but then you lose the custom look. It took us all day to get 20 cables on. buyer be aware
