Great tool fun to use
My son loves this- I know it is meant to be used to see how fast you throw or hit a ball- but we also use to to see how fast you run, ride your bike and other things. It has been fun for my kids and my husband to test out different things. We tested it with the car and the reading is pretty accurate- or at least as accurate as the car is :-) the one thing is it is a Lilly tricky at first to learn how to get it pointing in exactly the right spot.

Fun Toy
My daughter's pitching coach had fun competing with the girls for fastest pitch & most change for a change-up.

Doesn't work for other than baseball
I returned this item. I wanted to use it as a fixed placement speed check for RC models and it did not work as expected. I found the range was very limited as compared to the Bushnell product, so it has to be within a few yards of the object to trigger. The stand raises it only about 1' off the ground. In addition, the large readout was not readable to me in sunlight. So if you can setup very close to the objects path it may work. Also, it turns itself off within minutes, another pita.

Cute toy
This radar gun and tripod are very lightweight. The radar is simple to operate, but the directions are not great for indicating where to setup for an accurate reading. The gun requires a lot of AA batteries, and will drain them even when powered off. The battery compartment is also secured by a (pointy!?) screw, which is tedious. The speeds are easy to read, but don't seem accurate -- sometimes a random speed will appear when nothing is moving.Overall, this would be fine for a kid to use as motivation to improve a bat swing or pitching speed, but I wouldn't rely on it for accurate results

Worth it!
Purchased this for my son who’s 8 yrs old and trying to monitor his speed for pitching and it’s pretty accurate and consistent with the speed. We checked out the ball with the speed radar and had to return. The functionality to this radar is pretty good. Easy to set up and build down. Great price for the product and quality.
