Sent back for a replacement
I ordered the same safe a few weeks ago and really liked it. I ordered another one and the door wouldn't stay closed or was difficult to close. The hook appears to have been welded slanted. It was barely catching the latch or not and would open on it's own. Sent it back for a replacement. Hope the replacement works like the previous one I bought.Note: I was pleased to know that I could program all 4 RFID's (2 from each safe) on both safes.5/13/23 - UPDATE: Received the replacement and the door doesn't open smoothly, gets stuck about 9 times out of 10. Very difficult to close. Since it's hard to close and gets stuck opening, sometimes I think the door is closed and locked, but it is not. I tried to order another replacement, but Amazon customer service said the only option was to return it and order another one. Maybe 3rd time is the charm??? I really want this to work.

Fortress Quick Access Pistol Safe with RFID we use it as a small lock box just to keep the kids out
So far everything is really good and all works well for us. We use this for grandpa so he can keep his medicine and a few other little things around in it when the kids are over. Programming it was easy you just hold the button down placed the card on top programs the card there after you just place the card on the top and it opens the door Fortress Quick Access Pistol Safe with RFID It really works great as a little lock box and grandpa really likes that Safe with RFID If anything changes will update the review we would recommend this to others and we think it’s a good product we do not use it for a gun but for other stuff and it works really well thank youWe emailed the company to get info on an extra card I wrote them and asked if you could buy the extra card on Amazon the readable rideable cards with RFID, when they answer back I’ll update the review It does come with the credit card a keychain and a small sticky you can stick on a phone or other item that will open the safe With Quick Access RFIDOne note would like to add is you have to be a little slow with it, other reviewer’s had stated the same thing if you try to go to fast it won’t catch it self. The RFID is programmed this way and other units will operate different due to RFID Circuit board and or programming. Other than this we haven’t had any other issues Learning this new piece of equipment

Excellent Product!
It does it's job well. It's not going to stop someone from stealing it, but it's great for keeping your firearms away from children or that bump in the night moment. The alarm on it is nice and loud, I can hear it in my kitchen when my grandchildren were over visiting and somehow got in my room. They were pushing the buttons on the safe and the alarm went off. I could hear it while sitting in my kitchen talking to our children. I got the safe so I didn't have to put it in the big safe and I like having quick access to my firearm. I also like the RF ID feature. I only use the RF ID card, and put it in my wallet which is always on me so there is no chance of the kids or grandchildren getting into it. The only drawback is the when the door opens it flys open quickly and makes a loud noise. So if someone is in my house that shouldn't be there, they would hear that noise. I put folded up hand towel in front of it so when the door flys open it isn't slapping down on the rubber bumpers on the safe and doesn't make all that noise. I highly recommend this product to anyone.

Not bad for the price, but...
First, the RFID is a nice feature for quick access. 3 implements come with the Safe: key chain and adhesive backed fob which work very well once programmed; the rfid card so far has been useless, as it works 1 in 5 tries and requires much playing around to get it to work (hardly what you’d want in an emergency). Mine is in the bottom of a drawer, which is where it will stay. The keypad is easy to program and has worked perfectly so far. The alarm is also a very nice feature, when an incorrect code is used 3x or someone tries to move the box. My biggest complaint is the size and shape. I knew the dimensions before I bought it, but didn’t take the internal shelf (though removable) or the inclined roof into consideration. My P365 and .380 fit easily, even in the ready position (with a wire rack, purchased separately). I will have to keep my full sized service pistols in my large safe, as even one consumes most of the space with accompanying magazines. I am satisfied with the quality and features, and will use it for my EDCs only.

Great quick access safe
Realizing that this is a safe more for kids, much less for criminals, I am very pleased with it. I have a loaded glock 19 stiffed in the back, plenty of room for a sig p365 and spare mag in front of that, and a large flashlight and 2 30 round ar15 mags on the rope shelf, with easily room for more. Button access is quick and easy to use but I do find you cant press the button sequence TOO quickly. Still it only takes about a second. The auto opening springs are strong and it really snaps open (loudly, if you dont catch it with your thumb, which is easy to get in the habit of doing.) I probably open this twice a day or more and batteries are going strong after over a month. If you keep in kind this is a lightweight, quick access safe, I have nothing negative to say. A great purchase. I havent bothered anchoring it, but it does come with hardware for doing so and seems easy enough to do.

Works as intended with a few minor issues
All of the functions of this safe work as advertised. It is secure, and the alarm goes off when it should. The motion detection for the alarm is a bit too sensitive; knocking on the wood I have it secured to can make it go off. The 4 button passcode works, but you have to input the code slightly slower than I would like. I have locked myself out because I would put in the code, it would only register 3 of the 4, and by the time it was ready for the second attempt I had input 1 or 2 of the button presses. If you can remember to slow down a bit, it works fine. The RFID tags all work, but I use the buttons. I don't want to have something else on my keychain or in my wallet, and using the buttons and having an override key locked up elsewhere is the most secure option.

Not a Safe.
I owned this locking box for approximately 3 years. I lost the keys i live in canada. Fortress does offer an option to buy a replacement key.. for 25$+shipping and another 25$shipping added cost for living in canada. A little bit scammy if you ask me. I digress. I decided to drill out the lock. The lock itself was stout. It didnt open due to the rfid mechanism. So i drilled directly through the front door to the latch. It took literally 3 seconds. So yeah Not a Safe. By any means. Glorified lunch box with a lock and a fancy electronic rfid b.s.

Stopped working.
Safe worked for a couple weeks and now won't unlock electronically with the RFID or code. I can only open it with the key. 5 days after the return window....
