Possibly effective. The mice took one of the boxes.
These were supplied boxed in bulk with decent instructions having only a minor typo. We have an unfinished spare / junk room that has significant mouse activity, so I was keen to try these. I put down four, and within a day could hear some scraping sounds that sounded much like the boxes when I set them down on the concrete floor. When I checked the boxes, one had gone and must have been taken by the mice, or perhaps a mouse had got stuck. So far I have not located the missing box. Mice are normally wary of changes to their environment, so the apparent interest in the boxes suggests that they are indeed attracted to them. I've not yet detected any smell of mouse demise, and assessing any reduction in mouse activity will take time and be an ongoing exercise. As the boxes are light and can be easily moved, placing somewhere that would avoid this might be beneficial, while not blocking either of the two holes. The boxes are not supplied individually shrink wrapped, and I wonder if the efficacy of the food might be reduced if not deploying boxes immediately. Sealing any unused boxes in an airtight container of some kind might be prudent. Unfortunately I didn't think to weigh boxes using a sensitive scale before deployment, but will be doing so from now on to see if there is a reduction, and comparing with a control as weight may vary naturally over time.Although we don't have definitive results yet, fundamentally these should work. Mice clearly showed some interest, though whether they have literally taken the bait we don't yet know. The fact they are pet safe is reassuring (assuming mice don't drop any of the poisoned wax outside), though it would be advisable to prevent the possibility of a pet consuming a poisoned rodent as much as possible.

Good traps
I have used bait box traps now for many years in our loft spaces, currently in a traditional brick, block and tiled house, but for over 30 years in thatched cottages, where mice could prove a particular nuisance with wiring and of course the thatch. The bait boxes themselves are refillable and are provided with a key to ensure that in normal use the bait should remain safely in the box. The locking mechanism is basic but does prevent access to all but a determined person trying to open them. The bait itself is contained in a side compartment on posts where the commercial bait is retained.Over the years I have refilled my bait boxes on an annual basis, as particularly in thatched cottages, mice are a constant threat. In our current home, we don’t have that problem but I do have these boxes just in case as most people will have mice in their loft at some stage. It is in that regard that these pre-filled boxes are really good and remove the need for those without a regular problem to obtain them for an isolated outbreak..Really effective preloaded bait boxes which are easy to install and refill if required. The only issue that you should have is ensuring that they are placed where the mice run, usually alongside a wall.

Easy to put in place
Following the instructions I’ve put these into the garage and shed. The boxes seem sturdy enough. Not sure if the could be placed outside. Hopefully they will never be used, but that’s unlikely. Might look to put one in the greenhouse to stop my young seedlings being nibbled, but will need to take them out later in the year as expect it will be too hot.

Easy to use
Poisonous bait is my choice of last resort for rodent control…I prefer to deter with peppermint oil where possible. Inevitably, there are times when they invade the home and it’s important to deal with the problem quickly. These prebaited boxes are good value and very easy to use. They ensure that bait is not a danger to youngsters or pets and the deceased mouse is likely to be within the box and can be disposed of safely without handling. There are four boxes and they can be reused with more bait if necessary. I placed one behind the kickboard in the kitchen area where I’d heard activity under the sink cupboard and after a couple of days, found the bait taken and a dead rodent. Happy with these.
