Such a small but worthwhile upgrade.
Having a Mazda 3 from 2016 has been a mixed experience. The car itself is very reliable but the software for the infotainment system has been less than ideal. It is just decent enough to use but lacks any android/ios support and given the location of the 12v cigarette lighter port on this model leaves the options for your phone mount limited. This module replaces the old one with a new update to date bluetooth codec with support for BOTH android and ios phones (Switching compatibility is just a small switch under the SDcard port) and the USB-C port gives you a respectable boost in power delivery.Installation of this module is a completely different task however. You first need to upgrade your firmware for your infotainment system to the latest version before you can start removing the trim of your dashboard, center console and glovebox to reach the wires, screws and the module clips themselves. It is a daunting task that will scare anyone not tech and/or car savvy. (Youtube videos and google search will be your greatest friend in this)The instructions are just ok and straightforward. However the hardest part of the job was removing the old module. Ive seen people drill the module off but i just removed the faceplate and pull the clips off the module to get it off. Reinstalling the new module clipped right in but I recommend you attach the new wires that came with the product before clipping it on. This took easily about 3 hours to do but it was worth it. Controlling my music app and maps through the touchscreen has been a godsend. No more overpriced sd card maps to purchase every year and the added realtime traffic data really makes driving in Los Angeles just a tiny bit more enjoyable. I can’t recommend this upgrade enough.

Love the USB C and Wired CarPlay.
Not a terrible install on a 2016 Mazda CX-5. It was pretty straightforward, and as you will find in the forums, getting the old hub out is the hardest part. The reason I picked this model it is wired CarPlay only and it has a USB-C port. Wired CarPlay was a must because my wife and I both drive the car, and we are often in the car together. Being able to pick the connected phone with just a cable is more convenient than wireless. The USB-C is just a nice plus because that means I will never worry about plugging in the cable upside down. Both USB ports provide more power than the stock USB ports, and I tested the SD card as well. Everything works! Photo is from my testing before putting everything back together.

Installation requies effort, but doable.
You need to do a firmware update if your version is old(below 70).Installation takes some time and skill, there are plenty of tutorials available on YouTube, but it is definitely doable. When I first installed it, it would phase between the Mazda and the Apple CarPlay system, this is because the system conflicts with both. A simple solution is to go to Bluetooth and forget your device, reconnect it, and it should work just fine.Overall, great product.

Mazda cx9 2017
This is working pretty well. I have the wired version and have used it for carplay and android auto. Android auto touch screen doesn't work at all (expected) for carplay works when the vehicle is stopped. Will look into any mods to change that behavior but I believe it's in the Mazda firmware so probably not unless there's some custom firmware out there. My main issue so far is that I have already had two instances where carplay just disconnects randomly. Unplugging and plugging the phone back in seems to fix it.The wiring process was pretty straightforward for CX-9 2017. Was able to get it done without a wire fish. Will do a follow up review and note any changes in behaviors.

Great product for an iPhone!!!!!
As advertised—very easy to install and performs extremely well. For iPhone users, both the touchscreen and wireless functions work seamlessly. Android users can connect via cable, but switching between wired and wireless requires a hard reset of the entertainment system each time. Additionally, touchscreen functionality is not supported on Android, as noted in the product description. If you're an iPhone user, this is a no-brainer.

Failed after 6 weeks
Worked perfectly on my 2018 Mazda 3. There is a slight delay in when you pause/play music (2-3 seconds) but otherwise works flawlessly. When I originally installed the unit it was very laggy to the point I could barely use it. To fix that I just did a reset on the infotainment center by pressing the Mute, Nav, and Back buttons simaltaneously for 10 seconds, was smooth after that.Edit: not 1.5 months into installation wireless Carplay stopped working. Not sure what is going on it just fails to connect anymore. I have reset the infotainment center, forgot the device from my phone and rebooted both multiple times. Can't recommend this if with it failing less than 2 months into owning it.

2019 Mazda Sport - Works Great!
Took me three hours to install, BUT! …I went really slow and watched YouTube videos on how to install, so took my time with it, wasn’t I a rush. You can definitely put this in faster if you have some experience with auto interiors. It’s been going for a couple weeks now. Works great, no problems so far. Starts up right away, shows music, etc. It’s like a new infotainment system! Super happy with it so far!
