Happy driving 😀
Hi I've never had a dash cam before so I can't compare it with anything else. First impression good quality, it looks good, picture quality is good to, i decided to get the snooper because of the speed trap warnings which it does ok, and you can add on ones that it doesn't pick up, ie the ones that aren't in a permanent position. The only downside for me is you can't adjust the volume of the warnings, so when you're radio is on, you may miss it, even though it visually comes up on the screen. Having said all this I've bought another one for my wife's car.

Camera images are crystal clear both day and night, and the speed camera alerts appear to be accurate (so far). Not used the camera view app much, but appears to work well also. You will need the device permanently powered as the built in battery is weak/ lasts only a few minutes

Honest feedback from a user
Great little device - more good than bad.If you own a snooper lynx speed detector you will be disappointed on two counts1. There does not seem to be as many camera warnings even after updating the device.2. The warning distance is quite short with no option to increase it.You get what you pay for with the camera database I guess, you will be able to cancel your subscription, so effectively if you are a Lynx owner this unit will pay for itself in a year:-)There is also a little niggle that the unit freezes if left powered on all of the time, so always turn the unit off and on each time you start your car.I leave my camera powered up all the time to spot if the car get damaged whilst parked. All other features are fantastic, play back quality day or night. Easy to use and set up. Not a distraction whilst driving.

Three Stars
Great Camera, Good Features but link to speed database down so could have brought a standard DVR cheaper.

The dash cam part of the DVR-4HD works great and the record quality is good but
Save your money and just buy a standard dash cam. The dash cam part of the DVR-4HD works great and the record quality is good but... The speed camera alerts are poor at best and only alerted me to 50% of the cameras I drove past where as my aging Snooper neo alerted me to every one. The DVR-4HD reverts back to default when ignition is switched off so if I want alerts to work I have to spend 5 minutes setting it up every time I get in the car. Wish I'd have saved £100 and just bought a standard dash cam.

You don't get what you pay for, FCWS is useless and the camera alerts are not speed related. Go for GPS DVR at half the price
I bought this for a couple of reasons1.Speed Camera Alert2.FCWSI was very disappointed with these features once I tested it.The speed alert has a VERY quiet bleep that is hard to hear, this is coupled with a brief image of a speed camera and your current speed. This alert is removed after a few seconds, even before you get to the camera. The alerts are not directional, so you get alerts from the other lane. You don’t get any reference about the speed that the camera is set and therefore don’t get alerts if you are breaching the limit.I have the INFORAD system installed and this is louder and continually bleeps if you are 1mph above the limit. The FCWS is very intermittent. The only way I could trigger the unit was to tailgate a truck for around 20 seconds. The FCWS should alert you if the car infront breaks and you are approaching but not breaking. This system wouldn’t alert you as it’s too slow, This will only alert you if you are a tailgater and would try to annoy you to stop. If you drive in that way, then my guess is that you wouldn’t be purchasing this unit.On the positive side, the image is excellent even in low light. The GPS position and speed is shown on the video and a second file is also recorded with additional data. The software supplied is very good, showing G Forces and a positional map. This was great as I was rear ended a few days after installing the unit. Luckily I had a second camera in the rear which filmed the whole accident.General opinion is that this is good as a GPS DVR but the additional features are not fit for purpose. Based on that fact the snooper is twice the cost of it’s competitors, so in this case you don’t get what you pay for.Additional Comment:I've now been using this unit for 3 weeks and it's crashed once per week. The only way to recover is to switch off/on. The problem is that when you switch the unit off via the button, it loses all of the settings i.e. camera alerts on, max speed warning, FCWS enabled etc. So while driving and you notice that the camera has frozen, you'll need to pull over at the services, reset the camera and then reconfigure all of your settings. You also have to switch off the unit to remove the SD card to update the camera database, which again loses the settings. Not really a reliable camera, hopefully it'll not fail when I actually need it!This hardware needs a lot of improvements and most of the functions are not good enough, although they advertise the functions to justify the cost, spending half the money would probably get you a better product.
