This handrail goes up easily and looks very nice. It is advertised as :high quality solid wood." It's not hardwood, such as oak or cherry, so I wouldn't use it for any kind of barrier installation. Still, it's nice looking and will work for most rial applications.

The handrail is solid wood. The top is finished beautifully, but there is no varnish on the bottom, so the wood is not sealed on the bottom, which could be an issue if mounting it in a damp environment, such as a deck or basement. The product page does state that it is for indoor or outdoor use, so the bottom should also be sealed with varnish/polyurethane. The rounded top makes it comfortable to grasp onto. All mounting hardware is included. The iron brackets are black. THis is a very nice quality handrail, with its only issue is the lack of a sealed bottom.
