Great addition for the family
I bought this for multiple reasons and am very happy with my purchase. 1. I have a 3-year-old child whom we are always trying to get into something. I wanted to have a game to use his intellect and creativity and this is something that he can grow with and the substance of the game can change over time. 2. I love chess and what it does from an intellectual standpoint. However, this encompassed bringing that game and merging it with my tech side which was awesome!. Then to add to it the African/Khet side of things was just too hard to pass up. I definitely recommend this game to add to the collection!

Aber damit muss man dann wirklich tierisch aufpassen, was man macht. 1a Kaufempfehlung für Strategiespieler.

Really nice board game - with a unique laser feature! There are also extra add-ons pieces to purchase, to increase the gaming difficulty and step up those tactics for players. The rules are simple and learnt in seconds. There are a few different set-ups, as well as your own once you're familiar - then you're good to go. However, I do think it is wildly overpriced - it's just plastic at the end of the day, no wooden or metal parts. But its design and play value allow it to (just barely) justify the price tags.

Khet Laser Game 2.0: A Brilliant Fusion of Strategy and Spectacle The world of abstract strategy games is dominated by classics like Chess and Go, but every so often, a new contender emerges that manages to innovate while honoring the genre's intellectual roots. Khet Laser Game 2.0 is precisely that game—a dazzling, modern masterpiece that successfully blends the cerebral challenge of a strategy game with the sheer spectacle of real, working lasers. The Innovation: Strategy with a Beam of Light What immediately sets Khet 2.0 apart is its core mechanic: the use of a laser beam to capture pieces. The objective, like Chess, is to eliminate your opponent's most important piece, the Pharaoh. However, instead of simply moving a piece onto a square, you must manipulate the laser's path using mirrored pieces. This is where the game truly shines. Each turn involves a move and a mandatory fire of the laser. Players must think not just about where their pieces are going, but how their movement will affect the trajectory of the laser beam. It transforms the board into a dynamic, geometric puzzle. Pieces like the Pyramid and the Djed have mirrored surfaces that reflect the beam at a 90-degree angle, while the Scarab can swap places with an adjacent piece, creating unexpected defensive or offensive opportunities. "Khet 2.0 is a surprisingly good strategy game that in some respects plays very much like Chess. The board is set up... to eliminate your opponent's Pharaoh." Deep Strategy, Simple Rules Despite the high-tech gimmick, the rules of Khet 2.0 are remarkably simple and easy to learn, making it accessible to a wide range of players. The goal is clear, and the movement of the pieces is uniform, reducing the initial cognitive load often associated with abstract games. This simplicity belies a profound strategic depth. The game constantly forces players to consider multiple layers of consequence: 1 Movement: Where can I move my piece to gain a positional advantage? 2 Rotation: How can I rotate my piece to set up a shot or block an incoming one? 3 Laser Path: What is the final destination of the laser beam after all reflections, and will it hit my Pharaoh or an opponent's piece? This multi-layered thinking leads to intense, satisfying "Aha!" moments when a player successfully executes a complex, multi-reflection attack. It rewards forward-thinking and spatial reasoning in a way few other games can match. A Visually Stunning Experience Beyond the gameplay, Khet 2.0 is a beautifully designed product. The Egyptian-themed pieces are visually striking, and the act of firing the laser is a moment of pure, satisfying drama. The red beam slicing across the board, reflecting off mirrors, and finally illuminating a target piece is a fantastic visual payoff that elevates the entire experience. It's a game that draws spectators and is a guaranteed conversation starter. Conclusion Khet Laser Game 2.0 is a must-have for fans of abstract strategy and anyone looking for a game that is both intellectually stimulating and genuinely fun. It successfully bridges the gap between classic strategy and modern innovation, offering a unique, engaging, and visually spectacular experience. It's easy to learn but difficult to master, ensuring it will remain a favorite on your game shelf for years to come. It is, without a doubt, a brilliant fusion of strategy and spectacle.
