I Love This Pillow
I am one of those people who reads all the reviews but never leaves any, but this pillow has been such an incredible catalyst in my life that I had to say something.First, I love how simple it is. You open the zipper and pull out stuffing if you like (and I'm not exaggerating when I say I pulled out 80-90% of the stuffing; no normal person could sleep on that). So it's very easy to customize to your preference. This also makes it very simple to wash, with or without the stuffing.I do wish the ends of the pillow were just a little larger because it's nice to have your head supported on either side (I also have a pretty large head so I have to give them a pass on this one - I imagine for most people it's fine.)How it affected my sleep:I have always tossed and turned throughout the night, and woken up with sheets all over the place to prove it. I figured this was just normal sleeping. Also, I have tried several different pillows and not gotten the neck support I needed, so often I would wake up with a sore neck. From the first night I started using this pillow, I have woken up every morning in the same position in which I fell asleep. No tossing and turning. As a result I also feel more well-rested. I have had no neck soreness. I never realized that A, I wasn't sleeping well, and B, that the reason was that I wasn't comfortable.I use this pillow by itself, under my neck with my head on the mattress and it's perfect. It has helped my sleep so much (which gives me more energy during the day) that I have to be corny and say it has changed my life.I'm probably just an idiot for not realizing what my problem was sooner, but I am very happy to be sleeping the way I am now.

Does what it’s supposed to.
I’ve had a straightened “military neck” most of my adult life. I have frequent tension headaches as a result. This pillow does what it’s supposed to do. It curves your neck while you sleep to try and restore the natural curve of your spine. When I use it properly, I wake up without a headache (I usually wake up with them five days a week). It is not like a regular pillow and will not provide “regular” pillow comfort. It’s to curve your neck, and that’s what it does. I imagine I would have more relief if I used it like I was supposed to every night... but some times it’s hard to get comfy for sleep when laying like that (on your back with your face straight to the ceiling). I suppose it depends on how badly you want relief... but the pillow does what it says it does. 5/5.

Not at all like the old one. (UPDATE)
I've had my first Bone pillow for more than twenty years, and because it's now squashed flat and the fabric is wearing thin, I figured it was time to replace it. Well, I'm glad I didn't dispose of the old one, because the new one is going to take time, and some experimental alteration, to get used to it. The new one is more tightly packed with stuffing than the old one was, so it's too hard to be comfortable. At least, it does have a zippered opening so excess stuffing can be removed. But it also seems to be a bit shorter in the shank (so to speak), so the flared ends hug the head tightly, and that limits its utility to back sleeping, which I've never liked to do (the old one worked well for side sleeping). Otherwise, the velours fabric is okay (the old one was in a flat woven print). So as of now, it's just so-so, as neck pillows go.UPDATE: So far I've taken what may be a quarter to a third of the stuffing out, and there's not much improvement. The polyester fiberfill is a particularly slick kind that is difficult to grip, especially through the small zippered hole, and it comes out in small puffs, so it's a tedious job. But the filling is also very springy, and I've almost got enough out of the Bone pillow to stuff a home made cervical pillow. That's almost like getting 2 pillows for the price of 1.

Great multi purpose neck pillow w/zipper
FINALLY a neckbone with a zipper!I could unzip take out the amount of stuffing I wanted to, and zip that puppy up! Love it!We have satin and suede and there are times for each. In bed we find we have such severe neck and shoulder pain, it’s nice to have a change.Give muscles a break by switching. It’s strange how you realize some must have been at work protecting you. Change your neck pillow and other muscles relax! For us with severe injuries (impingements, herniated, bulging disks w tears etc. ) it feels better to swap things around. Nothing feels perfect. For one of us a “my pillow” is fine. For me I had to take out 3/4ths.The neck pillows we found on Amazon were great. You might want to get two Suede so you don’t have to share. The Suede is my favorite for putting between my knees.

Comfy
My husband has neck issues..these are the only pillows he can use so we have several. Comfortable when using for traveling/napping in vehicles. I found the best result when washing is to use a gentle cycle and air dry. Wish someone made a tight pillowcase/covering for these pillows.

Overall it helps me!
I had one of these before and loved it.. AFTER a bit of breaking in. When it's brand new it's just not as comfortable for me. The end "bone" parts kind of close in around my ears. The part directly under my neck is a little hard. Maybe that is not the company's fault. It's just the design! Once it gets used a few to several months use it will soften up... Like my first (lost) one. This is with MY neck issues. For someone who needs a LOT of support under their neck it may be perfect. Washing it "Poof's" it back up again. Overall it does help!

Not the best not the worst
Update: I’m not a fan. I went back to the old neck bone I had and just recovered it with new fabric.I thought it was cotton like the original one. This one is a velour material and it's a bit overstuffed to me. Once I removed some of the stuffing it was better. Not as comfortable as the old one
