Unipac Silver Sand 2kg

The sand looks great in my aquarium! The price was good as I only needed a small amount but still had some leftover. Slight delay in the delivery and the tracking wasn't updated but the supplier did confirm the type of delivery and I received it in about a week.

This is the cleanest substrate I’ve ever bought for an aquarium. I was really surprised at the lack of dust, even after transport. Gave it a few thorough rinses anyway. The sand is super-fine but settles very quickly, so the water’s clear within half a minute. It is fine enough to damage pumps though, so I’d recommend switching your filter off before disturbing the sand.The sand is light buff in colour, not white nor golden as shown in the product photo. It’s a very pleasing natural colour.Because the sand is so fine and dense, one thing I’ll need to watch out for is anaerobic spots forming in the substrate.I ordered the 2kg and it came in a sturdy plastic bag packaged in cardboard. Bagged weight 2.2kg.

Arrived before the estimated date. I agree with a previous review that said turn off your filter until the sand's settled: it's super fine and might damage a filter's internals. Corys and Cherry Barbs both seem to love it.

I’ve been needing to top up the sand in my aquarium for a while, and this did the job great. It also came much earlier than expected which was a bonus. My bristlenose pleco enjoyed digging around in the new sand!

Actually brought this to use for filling in between paving slabs. Fine sand did the job!
