It was a great purchase. If I need more, then this is the one.
It was very easy to install. The size was just right for what I needed it for and it would be easy to move to another home or apartment. I could even move it to another area of the house. It came with extra adhesives and they stick very well. I haven't seen how it'll affect the walls, but I don't necessarily care if it affects the paint. I didn't want to drill so this was a great value. It is technically adjustable for height and width. I feel that it is quite safe to use. Opening it is very easy. Closing it sometimes is an issue on the bottom catch, but that is user error. My dog usually scratches at doors if he's in an inclosed room. This helps separate the house in a way that he is not pawing it. It isn't incredibly see through, but it is enough for me.

Great product
It’s a great product, I wish I had found it sooner! Fairly easy to install, size is okay for regular door frames / walk ways!

Cheap material. Broken in the first 2 weeks of use!
I have one other retractable gate on my covered porch that I absolutely love and have had for about 3 years now. So I bought this one in order to be able to block both sides of my porch for my kiddos and my dogs. I immediately disliked this one compared to my other gate. It was tougher to pull open and when retracting back, the mesh would fold up all wrong on itself. It is a pain in the butt to latch closed as well, unlike my other gate. After only the first couple weeks, the plastic pieces that latch the gate closed, broke off entirely without any reason or force. I was sitting on the porch when I heard it break and sling back. Do not buy this gate! Crossing my fingers they issue me my money back, as it is not cheap!

Really like the product but WORST directions ever.
I'm pretty good at assembling in fact I actually enjoy it. These directions were the worst very small I was using a magnifying glass. Absolutely no guidance in terms of lining up the pieces. No instruction on which adhesive was for what. Note: the thin clear one or for the plastic pieces and the white thick one is for your wall.It was a process to get it up but once it was up - it's perfect for me. I'm a grandmother and watch and have my grand daughter here once or twice a week. I love that it tucks away and it's really unobtrusive for when she's not here, but is extremely functional when I need it

It’s… ok.
Bought this to keep my kids from going in the hall where my office is and to keep the kittens from the kids lol.Well… the kittens figured out how to roll underneath it. And the kids ALMOST did the same thing. The design of the mounted brackets looks weird from the back if you’re putting it on wall, not in a corner? The mesh easily gets off track when opening it up again.Instructions weren’t the greatest either.

Game changer
Love the way it can fit so many areas. Looks great and so much easier to use than traditional gates. Easy to open and close one handed with a baby or toddler in hand.

Bought on a whim, couldn't be happier.
Purchased this to tie between my bedroom door and the laundry room door to prevent my dogs from getting into areas I didn't want them in while I am not at home. Works great! Retracts into itself, so no big bulky plastic or wood fence to move and store. Wife loves it!

For those of you who aren't handy....
I am not the handiest person around the house, so it took me a while to figure out how to install these. I finally realized you have TWO sets of brackets, one for mounting with screws and the other for mounting with adhesive pads. Once I understood that, it was easy to mount.Just be sure you mount where there is amble wall space on both sides for the brackets to fit. I made a mistake on this score, and by that time the adhesive had really stuck hard. I managed to get one side of the brackets off and moved them to the other side of the door frame (luckily, they give you more than 4 adhesive pads), so it closes at a slight angle, but hopefully this will stay put.I'm using these for my dogs, but they seem fine for babies too.
