📸 Capture the unseen: Turn everyday scenes into infrared art that demands attention!
The MaD Cameras 58mm R72 Infrared Filter blocks visible light to capture infrared wavelengths at 720nm, producing dramatic high-contrast black and white images. Compatible with most DSLR and SLR cameras with 58mm lenses, it enables artistic infrared photography without expensive camera modifications. Ideal for landscape and still life photography, it requires tripod use and long exposures for optimal sharpness, and RAW editing to perfect the monochrome effect.

Wow what a fab filter, grand quality at a great price!
First test of this filter & I am very impressed with the results. The filter arrived very quickly, nice packaging, simple and easy to fit to my lenses. I have not use the 850nm before, but I found this easier to use than my 720nm – I was really after the B&W conversions. The dark filter does really need to be used with a tripod, or you can up your ISO. Some lenses will give a central hot spot, but that is a factor of the lens. I was using mine on a 12mm Voightlander and it worked really well - a couple of sample shots attached. At this price this is great value, I was not sure how the filter would work but I am really impressed with the results and I look forward to using the combination again!!

a very good lens for the money . looks exspensive as the rest and works like an exspensive lens .
a very good lens . does what it clamis very well . the thread is perfect and screws on ok . arrived in a small box which is a nice tough . the qaulity seems very ggod looking at it . filters out all the unwanted light so does what it claims . its priced well too. as i`m sure others at twice the price do what this lens does already . a very happy buyer . arrived on time as well. so alls ok .

wait for a sunny day !
It's probably a bit early to give an honest appraisal of this filter having shot a mere couple of images both in cloudy conditions resulting in rather flat looking results. I dare say that given a sunny day the results will be o.k. as infra red light is more prevalent in full sun. MaD state exposure times of around 20secs at iso 200 and f8 but I think this is a bit ambitious , I would say with the same setting a good starting point would be around 60 seconds for the 850nm filter. As far as product quality goes the item appears to be well made .

Excellent
Does what it says on the tin for a decent price. I used it to take some great pics which were printed for an exhibition. Recommended.

Great fun - you DON'T need a modded camera
These are great fun to play with to get some really cool effects. My camera is NOT modded for IR and it works fine so not sure why that other review says otherwise, obviously not using it properly. They do take a bit of getting used to to be fair and with a DSLR you will need to edit them afterwards to get the best effects - i guess people expect instant results - but for me the editing is part of the fun. you need a tripod and a remote shutter release and long exposure for the best results and full sun shots work the best. I also accidently discovered they do also work with your phone camera too! The image quality isn't as good with a phone because the phone does a load of editing for you so it comes out a bit grainy, but sometimes that adds to the effect, i got a really eerie video of my wife walking through some trees. It is very useful though for test shots before you set up your camera, I've included a couple of these test shots on my review for reference, i don't have any fully edited ones off my SLR yet. Overall - for the price, these are really good, well worth it for the fun you can have with them and when i can afford it its convinced me I want to get a modded camera!

Not IR
May be suitable for IF modded camera but did not give an IF effect on either of my canon cameras
