So far, so good!
I had never heard of a hygroma until our 11-month-old Rottweiler developed a large soft swelling over her left elbow. Apparently they can develop from dogs who lay on hard surfaces. The problem is that our pup is very destructive, and any bedding I put in her crate would be shredded in no time. We do have beds all around the house, but when she was in heat, it was easier to keep her confined to her crate. The breeder said she didn’t need padding, so no padding…until this lump appeared! I googled - why yes, there are “indestructible “ dog beds out there. One advantage of this bed is that it ties down to the crate. It has loops all along the sides, and heavy-duty zip ties to hold it in place. Our dog can’t get a corner up to chew on it. It is cushioned but not plush. The cover is like vinyl; when she rolls over at night, I can hear her feet scrabbling on the vinyl-like surface. The pads will be useful outside of the crates once she is no longer destructive (fingers crossed that day comes soon, lol!).

is still going strong w/ TWO pits!
I first want to say that while reviews on these types of things are helpful, every pet is different and everyone has different needs. It would be hard to predict what would or would not work for each person until they try it. for us, it was worth it so pls read our exact needs....so we have two large pits. they def can chew and we can only buy the very strong KONGs for toys. they eat all the rest w/in minutes. they do NOT chew furniture or anything but the exception is = blankets! not sure if its the soft feeling or what but they both smush up the blanket w/their paws until its sticking up and then chew. almost suck on it and grind. eventually there is a whole in the blanket and that piece of material they have EATEN! While i want the kids to have a comfy crate when we are not home, I get concerned about all the eating of blankets and pooping them out and sometimes puking them up. We are lucky b/c while not part of the same littler and not actually related, our two babies love each other so much that they are actually calm and happy when in same crate so we only have to worry about ONE crate. We have had other dog beds of this nature and come home to what looks like is an explosion of stuffing and whatnot. this has survived for us so far and my babies are healthier NOT eating blankets. using the ties to secure it in a crate vs using it in the open, did not give them a little "end" to suck on or chew. i think the texture (while its still comfy for their bodies) was not plush like other beds or blankets. so i think in our case, once they realized it was not something to chew, just don't even try. i put two large kongs in there w/the treats so they have something to chew during the day as well as music that i play that for calming for dogs. they chew on blankets tho all the time, not just when alone. they are exercised, healthy and get plenty of attention so i guess its just something they like to do. this has solved our problem. my dogs are large w/ powerful teeth so when reading people's negative reviews i really think that it would be impossible to know if this would work for each person b/c all dogs are so different. i think if we left this out of the crate w/o it being tied down, that our dogs would go to and end and chew. with it being tied, this makes it harder to do and i think in their minds its just not a chewable item like the other blankets so they just gave up and use their kongs. i think they think its part of the crate and may not realize its a removable item. they are crazy smart in other ways so am glad they have not figured that out. i think now w/the easy return process we are spoiled and used to being able to just return things but in reality its a risk when you buy something. if you buy a dress that looks good and so then wear it and find its actually uncomfortable or has some annoying feature, well, you have already worn it and can't take it back. its a chance you take. This seller's details are very clear about returns and replacement. a replacement wouldn't help if a dog already destroyed one b/c it will prob destroy again but perhaps that person could use as a gift for someone it may work for or even sell it. it does work for some. After two large blankets became pieces of thread w/all the chewing (AND EATING), i was at my wits end w/options. the spray does not work for us as my dogs love all flavors of all items. LOL. so was willing to invest and risk the money. again, we have a large size and i am glad i only had to buy one since they insist on sharing a crate!

Buyer beware - quality and customer service poor
This bed is advertised as a chew proof bed. The disclaimer is that it is not for “aggressive chewers”. I left my dog for 2 hours on her brand new bed with a peanut butter filled Kong. I came back to this. She is a chewer but not an aggressive chewer. She likes to get the stuffing out of her toys. I had a cheap little mat for her crate before. That lasted for 3-4 months before she chewed an hole and found the stuffing. I tried this thinking it would last at least a year. The company offered to replace the bed but would not refund the price for the bed. The alternative was a metal encased bed that is supposedly indestructible but doesn’t fit in her crate.Save yourself if you have any type of bed chewer. Go for ORVIS who has a higher quality bed and a 100% money back guarantee.

Almost worked
These are definitely tough pads and chew resistant, but not entirely chew proof. It would be a 5-star product for less aggressive chewers. My 6-month-old Australian Cattle Dog apparently has some pretty strong chewing power and destroyed one of the corners, pulling stuffing out into her crate within a couple of months. That is not to say these are not tough - they are. I tried to machine sew the corner together and it bent the needle on the machine the first time. I did get it back together on try two but one thicker area that wouldn't go under the machine foot had to be hand sewn - unfortunately, even with thick thread, she was able to pull that one area apart again. We are trying the one with the metal around it for the next one.

Excellent Quality!
These are awesome durable dog beds! We bought one for our puppies crate and loved it so much we purchased another one for our livingroom! It is definitely resistant to puppy chewing! When our puppy peed a bit several times when we first got her and cleaning the bed is super easy and dries without fading!Beautiful colors to choose from that look good with your decor. We purchased the blue one and for XL dog. Totally will buy again.

Did not get chewed up
I was skeptical about this item, but I will say this is the first crate pad that by GSD has NOT torn up. She is now 3 yrs old and 76lbs. The only damage done to it was the tabs that can be used to secure it to the crate. The tabs have been torn off since i guess she pulled on the pad and they just tore. Otherwise no other tears or holes in it what so ever. I would highly recommend this product

This product is not indestructible.
I was so happy when I read that this dog crate bed was tough on chewers. I loved how it attached to the crate with zip ties, but 2 months later I have to seek another bed because my dog has ripped it in three different places and pulled out the fluff. See pictures.

Appears Strong unfortunately not
The pad was true to the measurements, the plastic tie downs is a nice touch to secure the pad to the crate. A second nice touch was the red tennis ball that popped out of the box. My dog loved the ball. I'm hoping to love the pad. Since it just arrived, I am curious how long it will last. That answer was less then 5 hours before the first rip.

No match for a dedicated chewer (sad given that this is the type of dog it's designed for)
Not indestructible, but better than the cheaper ones found at local pet stores. While not a complete failure hence the 3 stars, my dog did manage to get some decent holes in this mat within his first day in his crate with it. Thankfully, with the rip-stop fabric, these holes have managed to stay relatively small and he didn't get much stuffing out of it.With a combination of some good spritzes with bitter apple, the crate pad is still doing strong albeit some chew holes on the edge padding. The central padding section is still fully intact. One big benefit is that the bottom corners of the mat are set up to put through some zip ties to fasten it down to the bottom of the crate. If we put our guy in there when he was frustrated he used to pull up the pad and chew on the edge, now he can't.Our dog is also getting older and maturing a little so is not really throwing tantrums on the mat so that also plays a part on its continued existence.Overall, I'd say that if you can afford it give it a shot, but I would not have bought it given its performance. I would have instead purchased on of theirs or another makers hammock bed (the ones with the metal or plastic frame around a canvas or nylon material bed)

One Star
My dog tore through this on the first day of use. Not worth the amount of money!
