Lovely addition!
We absolutely love our Hatch Restore 3 Sunrise Alarm Clock! It’s become such an easy and gentle way to start the day. The sunrise wake-up feature makes mornings feel calmer and more natural — no jarring sounds, just a soft light that gradually brightens and helps me wake up feeling more refreshed. I also appreciate how customizable it is. There are so many sound and light options, so you can really tailor it to what works best for you (or your partner). The sleep routines are great, too — the wind-down lights and sounds have helped me relax before bed and actually fall asleep more peacefully. Overall, it’s easy to use, thoughtfully designed, and feels like a little daily upgrade to both bedtime and morning routines. Worth every bit of the hype — we’re so glad we added it to our bedroom!

Excellent Device! Makes falling asleep and waking up fun!
Set up was very easy! It did take a minute to learn the ins and outs of the app. However, the gentle sleep sounds make falling asleep so easy and fast! I find myself listening to the sounds instead of running through thoughts in my mind. The wake up function is the absolute best! No more sudden loud obnoxious alarm! And I’m usually up before the set time due to the gentle light getting brighter and brighter! I also like being able to control when the time is displayed and the brightness! All and all, it’s a wonderful alarm clock! I highly recommend

An in-depth review for anyone debating the high price! (with year update)
Don’t let the subscription deter you, this alarm clock is completely usable without it. The monthly subscription is mainly for more sounds and bedtime stories, plus 2 added steps to your sleep/wake routine which are ‘Unwind’ and ‘Morning Moment’. I’d suggest setting up some routines while on the free version, to get the feel of it first; then get the free trial and immediately cancel it, so you don’t get charged but can try it out for a month. If you realize that you like the subscription version more than the free: the monthly price is $5 totaling to $60 a year, and the yearly subscription is $50. The sunrise feature is super customizable, you can have the dim lamp go very bright within 5 minutes or up to an hour. There’s 28 different sleep sounds, 12 sunrises, and 13 alarm sounds to choose from without a subscription. Hatch claims this alarm is science-backed in lulling you to sleep but also waking you up gradually and peacefully. Listening to sleep sounds definitely helps me stay asleep for most of the night; whereas before, I’d wake up numerous times every single night. Also I can for sure say that after having this clock for a few months, not once have I woken up to a jarringly loud alarm and jumped out of bed after realizing I snoozed all of my phone alarms. The biggest issue is that it relies on a constant WiFi/power connection. If a cell tower nearby goes down or there’s no power, you’re stuck without an alarm clock. (Aug. ‘24) I got the Restore 2 in the Putty color, it’s a lighter tan with a hint of pink. The video I included shows the Brown Noise sleep sound and the light color Evening Sun. There are instructions that come with the clock that tell you where to touch for adjusting the volume and light, how the two Rest/Rise buttons at the top work, and how to set up the clock within the app. It took about 10 minutes for my clock to connect and register/update, so don’t be worried if it takes awhile. Not only is this an aesthetic clock, but it’s also a sound machine, an alarm, and a curated sunrise. The ability to have a different alarm schedule is a huge bonus as well, especially if you have a differing morning routine depending on the day. Honestly, the price could definitely be lower ($170), but I believe it’s just about worth it over other options. !!! Update: I’ve had the Restore 2 for a year now (Oct ‘25) and had some sound issues for awhile, so I contacted support. The sleep sound that I rely on every night (brown noise) was cutting out after a few minutes and Hatch’s customer support was super kind and gracious. I was provided a replacement power cord and after the sound issue remained, eventually a replacement clock. Since they stopped making the Restore 2, I was genuinely surprised that I was given a free replacement/upgrade to the Restore 3! The only downside to the new model I noticed is that the Restore 3 is a bit taller and doesn’t have the easy touch options on the face. The light adjustment is now on the right side edge (between the routine and light buttons), the invisible touch sensors are hard to manage. The light button on the right side also only has one setting of a warm white at about 60 brightness (shown in photo with the water bottle), which I think is a bit too bright. Regardless, the Hatch products and their team is amazing, they really care about their customers!!

This is your sign to invest in your sleep!
I normally never review products but I genuinely could not live without my hatch alarm clock after getting it! My sleep quality has improved so much since I started using it! It is super easy to set up and it really is so much fun to play around with all the settings! The app is so easy to use and there are so many different options for lighting colors, sound effects, and setting alarms! I listen to pouring rain every single night while falling asleep and I sleep like the dead! Waking up is so much easier with it too, no more waking up frazzled and trying to find the right button to turn off your alarm in the dark! There’s one button for snoozing/ turning off your alarm and I wake up to relaxing music. You’re probably thinking oh gosh light music or nature sounds aren’t going to wake me up because I thought the same thing, but it actually works! I also enjoy going to sleep more now, I set a “bedtime” on my hatch alarm clock and it does a 30 minute countdown then your hatch starts playing whatever sound you want until you’re ready to go to sleep. I use this time to read and it makes me not reach for my phone to doomscroll for hours! If you are on the fence about the investment this is your sign to do it! I know it’s expensive for an alarm clock but it is so much more than that and truly an investment for your sleep! I’ve tried so many medications to help me sleep but nothing has helped as much as the hatch alarm clock!

perfect alarm clock
it’s pretty loud for how small it is the light is also bright and very cute. they also have an app where you can set alarms easy to use and it definitely wakes you. recommend if you’re a heavy sleeper or if you’re trying to fix you’re sleeping schedule very reliable. i also recommend if you can update the app it’s kinda slow but still works

A lifesaver for sleep routines, especially around exam season
I honestly didn't expect an alarm clock to make such a big difference in my routines, but the Hatch Restore 3 has completely transformed both my sleep and my mornings (especially as a college student during exam season). The sunrise alarm and waking up to gradual, warm light instead of a harsh audio alarm feels so much more natural and calming. During weeks when I’m stressed, sleep-deprived, or going to bed late studying, this makes mornings feel significantly less jarring. Instead of being shocked awake, I feel gently eased into the day, which has noticeably helped my mood and focus. The sound machine has been particularly helpful for falling asleep when winding down after a long day. The white noise and ambient sounds are high quality and genuinely soothing. I was also sharing a room with my roommate, and the Restore helped block out background noise without being disruptive. She actually commented on how much more consistently I seemed to be going to sleep as well. One of my favorite features is that it supports a screen-free sleep routine. As a computer science student, my daily screen time is much higher than I would like it to be. The Hatch makes it easy to wind down with dimming lights and calming sounds, and l've noticed I fall asleep more deeply because of it. The design

Great product
I would buy this again. Quality alarm clock, the app does work well and is worth every penny. Has helped me develop better sleeping habits, by not keeping my phone on my room when I go to sleep. I sleep much better and I am well rested for the next morning because of this alarm. I love the meditations and the sounds the Hatch has to offer. I like that when the alarm does go off it’s a gentle sunrise as well as sounds. It is pricey however completely worth the investment.

It really works
My old alarm clock was not cutting it. Even if I put it on the other side of the room, I would wake up, lurch across the room, turn it off, and then go back to sleep. I also had a habit of staying up too late. I tried a Philips Sunrise Alarm which did wake me up, but had horrible controls and looked ugly on my nightstand. So I decided to try the Hatch 2. Right out of the box you've got a very different, more pleasing aesthetic with the smaller profile and the gauzy fabric over the clock face. Setup using the Hatch app was a breeze. For the unpaid version of the app you've got your Sunrise (Rise) and Sunset (Rest) functions. Here you can change a number of factors from light color to wakeup sound, to sunrise effect to sunrise duration, brightness, sound volume, etc. So for me I've got Sunrise of a Flower Orchard set for 30 minutes with Ocean shore sound to wake me up. This ensures a nice, pleasant, gradual wakeup with a soft orange light, and it works. It happens so slowly, it really wakes me up without any bit of resentment! When the alarm goes off you can hit the big Rise button on the right and it will snooze, or you can hold and press it to turn it off. Then there's Sunset. Ooh do I love my Sunset. I've got it set to the glowing red Hearthside sunset for 30 minutes, which gradually fades out and is immediately followed by my sleep choice, Brown Noise, and runs all night. Hearthside is perfect for me because it doesn't have any blue light and I can read my Kindle in dark mode in bed, with the light going out a cue that it's time to sleep. The paid features, which I decided to try, add two new features, Morning Moments and Wind Down. Morning Moments is a stress relief function I think intended for after wake-ups but you could theoretically do them any time, you'd just have to hit the big Rise button on the clock to activate it. Soundscapes are special collections of sounds for Wind Down and can be set along with the Sunset. I don't care for the verbal options like guided meditations but there are just musical sounds as well, for example my Morning Moments is 15 minutes of harp music. Sometimes I use it to destress. All of these features are scheduled in blocks on the app, so you can mix and match and rearrange them for the perfect configuration. If you want 5 minutes of meditation followed by thirty minutes of reading followed by white noise, you've got it. If you want 15 minutes of harp followed by a blue sundown followed by ocean sounds all night, it shall be yours. Whatever you have programmed in the app is what happens when you hit the big Rest or Rise buttons on the device. There are no other buttons besides the toggle off alarm button. Which brings me to my biggest problem with the Hatch 2. For all its sophistication, I have been unable to find a way to use it as a simple on/off bedside lamp. You can set the lamp to any color or brightness through the app but it loses your preference as soon as you turn it off. On the device, you're stuck with just two buttons - Rest and Rise. My work around is just to keep my Morning Moments set with a warm light at about 50% brightness. This enables me to hit Rise and immediately have a light source (as well as harp music. They can't be separated.) This just feels like a big oversight to me so I'm deducting a star. As for other features on the device, you can set the display clock for any brightness including off, or only off during certain times unless you tap the display. Mine goes off automatically at 10pm. You can also tap to adjust the lamp's brightness and volume of the sound. That's about it. A completely worthy investment in my eyes. For the first time in a long time I'm starting to have confidence in my ability to wake up when I need to.
