I recently installed this keyless entry door lock on my front door, and I'm incredibly impressed with its performance and convenience. While I haven't yet connected it to Alexa or Google Assistant (as that requires a separate WiFi gateway), the core unlocking functions are exceptionally reliable and user-friendly.The ability to manage access through the app, like setting temporary passcodes for visitors, is a huge plus for home management. Great door handle! I purchased this lock for our med room at work where only specific people are allowed access. Every time we change a door handle we have to make new keys and distribute them again and again. We thought this would be a better alternative and it has been. One thing I'll point out, and I saw a bad review because of this, the square bar that sits in the middle, connecting the two handles has a small pin in it that you have to put in place. If you look on the handle with the keypad there is small hole where that pin sits. If not, the bar will separate from the two handles and the keypad side handle will not work. I learned this the hard way. I'm sure its in the instructions but I did not read that part. Apart from that this is a great quality door handle. It has several different ways to gain access. The traditional hard key, through biometrics, the keypad itself, the two fobs included and you can also unlock the door via app on your phone. I hope they continue to make these handles as we may eventually buy them in bulk.

I no longer have to double-check whether I remembered to lock the door - it secures itself after few seconds. This peace of mind is worth the price alone.Important Note About Remote Access:Be aware that without purchasing the separate gateway device, you won't have remote control capabilities via smartphone. This wasn't an issue for me as I'm using it on my back door where I don't need remote access, but front door users may want to factor in- Physical key backup is included for emergenciesFor the price, this smart lock delivers excellent functionality and has significantly improved my daily routine.

This is a very nice lock and appears to be well made. It also works well so far. I left off a star because of a few minor details. I used this to replace an old Kwikset lever lock that had worn out after a decade or so of use. This was easy to install and worked well on my back door which has the deadbolt hole placed a little too close to the doorknob hole where this lock mounts. With the old KW I had to turn the inside unit upside down to make it work but this unit is short enough to fit properly. The fingerprint to open is great and works well although I did have to enter my thumb at 2 different angles and learn that I had to place the finger on it and hold for about a second.The minor details:(1.) There is no easy way to lock the door from the inside. A simple button wired to the main board through the battery connection cable should be incorporated in future designs.(2.) Locking the lock from the outside isn't easy either. You do it by touching and holding the checkmark key. This usually takes two taps on the key holding it the second time when it beeps. If I were writing the firmware for this thing, I would have made the fingerprint sensor toggle the lock. In other words, if the door is locked and a valid print is used, it unlocks. If the door is unlocked and a valid print is used it locks. So, if the manufacturer is reading this, please consider this change to the firmware. It is to me the intuitive way to do things. The auto lock feature is good but not for me. I want to leave the door unlocked until I want it locked. It should be easy to lock the door manually, without the need of the app.(3.) Making it work with Alexa was tricky for me. I bought the bundle with the wi-fi gateway because I wanted to control it remotely and also by voice with my echo devices. I first set the gateway up in the Smart Things (actually Brilliant Smart - Tuya) app which I was already using for other things. and added the lock. Everything appeared to work except Alexa voice control. It replied with a device not responding error even though the lock itself was working through the app. So, I started over and set everything up in the Nice Digi app. That worked except there is no Alexa voice control because Nice Digi doesn't have an Alexa skill. So, I tried a third time by deleting it from the Nice Digi app and again pairing the gateway with the Brilliant Smart-Tuya app. Third time was a charm as it all works now. This just may be an old man issue, but I usually breeze through linking up IOT devices. Maybe Nice Digi should consider writing their own Alexa skill instead of using Smart Life.I do like being able to lock/unlock the door with Alexa voice control as well as being able to control it from anywhere with the Tuya compatible app. So, I recommend buying the bundle with the gateway included. In general, despite my minor issues, I am happy with the purchase so far and expect I will enjoy having the smart upgrade from my old lock. I do hope it lasts as long as that old KW did!
