Vic FIrth - American Custom® Drumsticks SD2 - Bolero - Maple - Wood Tip

The sweetest touch on cymbals. These are American Rock Maple sticks so they're lighter in weight and sound than hickory. The have a slightly waxed lacquer grip to them that I really love. The barrel tips are rugged enough that they don't chip easily but they do wear down quicker than hickory tips. Fussy players like myself do have to replace them more often than their hickory counterparts. Their sound is warm, yet very precise and articulate The shoulder of the stick responds softly when crashing cymbals loosely and carries less vibration back to the grip than oak or hickory. I am definitely a convert! They'll be travelling with me from now on. Dafnis Prieto's preference too I believe.

These ECHO sticks have a unique shape that provides a very balanced feel. The tips are tiny - about the size of a small dried pea - and the shoulders are long and thin, so they play quiet and fast. They wouldn't last five minutes in the hands of a heavy metal drummer but are fantastic for quiet practice and maybe a bit of jazz.

I'm usually one for using 7a's but they break so fast because I use a china cymbal. These were a god send. They have a nice light feel but are thick enough to take the brunt of any cymbal or skin.

Love vic firth sticks, these babies are strong yet light weight and perfect for larger hands.

This is my 5th pair of VF swizzle sticks. These are a bit thicker and heavier than I usually get but still play well.

These drumsticks look to me as if they're well made. They arrived swiftly and packaged well. As with all sticks these still get chipped at the sides when they get battered on the side of the snares.

These were bought as a gift for my drummer friend. He seemed to think them just right (told me that one stick has a higher pitch than the other) and did the job nicely. I am sure they will last well enough before he bangs them to bits again ready for a new pair. Well priced and good quality. Would recommend.
