Prefect for Christmas
These are absolutely adorable and very easy to press and use. My 11 year old daughter loves making the mini pies and they are great price for the quality.

So cute so delicious
I made mini pies for the holidays this year the family loved them so much that they just may be a new stable for the holiday season! They are the perfect size for a small dessert or even a chicken pot pie.

I was disappointed, but maybe it’s me.
I was feeling pretty cocky after last week’s experiment with the pinecone cookie molds (available on this site). My honey gingerbread, pine cone shaped cookies, were things of beauty. So, despite the fact that I am not a pie maker (I have often referred to pies as the liver of desserts), my ego overcame me today and I gave these a try. I won’t be posting a photo because my results were things of which nightmares are made. That doesn’t mean that it’s the fault of the pie molds, but I received no instructions whatsoever, and so I was really working in the dark. If you picture in your mind a melted gargoyle, that best describes my results. On the plus side, the molds were easy to use. They did hold together so that none of the filling ran out, they just looked like monstrosities. I’m going to set these aside for a while and revisit them later. If my results are different, I’ll post a photo and update.

Good in theory
I have mixed feelings about these. Here’s the idea: The outside of the pie press is like a cookie cutter. First, use it to cut two pieces of pastry dough. Then lay one piece inside the press, put a spoonful of filling in the middle, and lay the second piece on top. Then close the press so that it pinches all the sides together. Lastly, open the press and empty the pie onto a baking sheet. The cookie cutter side cuts decorative vent holes for you, so there’s no need to do anything else except brush with butter and bake. Easy-peasy, right? But it doesn’t work like that. Because of the way the press is designed, the pieces cut by the outside of the press aren’t big enough to fully cover the inside of the press, so the edges don’t get crimped together properly when you close the press. That being said, I was still able to use these. I cut pieces of dough slightly bigger than the press itself, laid it inside, filled it, and pressed it. Then, with the press tightly shut, I used a sharp knife to cut the excess dough off the outside of the press. This wasn’t difficult, but it was the most tedious part because of the hinges and the uneven shapes. Then I opened the press, dumped out the pie, and used the sharp knife to cut vent holes in the dough. While the presses don’t work exactly as pictured, they work well enough that using them was still a fun baking project, and I will probably use them again this holiday season. Also, I plan to use the outside of the presses as a regular cookie cutter.

Easy to use
These are so easy and simple to use and make the cutest pies with. I did apple pie at first then tried some with a breakfast mix of course my favorite is gram crackers mini marshmallows and chocolate baked inside.. I had no problem working these and its simple enough my granddaughters 6 and 7 could cut the shapes out.

Good molds
These molds are the perfect size for individual pies. You can do meat or fruit pies and they look adorable. You could even do empanadas or big dumplins depending on what you fill them with. Make sure you brush on butter or oil on your dough before it goes in the oven so it has that brown flaky crust.

Work well
I really like this set. They make cute pies and are actually bigger than I thought they would be. The molds work really well seeling the pies. These are perfect for holiday parties or get together.
