They're supposed to be smaller than true size
Don't listen to the review that says order larger. Some people really are clueless. If these were your true size you'd never get them into your shoes because they don't bend. They have to be smaller and they work great. You put them under your actual insoles or orthotic. Some people have complained on other reviews of carbon fiber insoles that they're too stiff and not comfortable and that's usually some other clueless non reader of instructions not understanding that you don't stand directly on these they go under the insole. They prevent foot bending the wrong way which leads to things like turf toe, metatarsal damage, and top of foot pain. These treat that. It's like putting a steel shank in any shoe. Couple these with a good orthotic and you're golden. 1.6mm is really stiff though so 1.2mm might be good for the majority of people. So shop around. I use to a 1.2mm pair for my work footwear and the thicker ones for working around the house. They really help when stepping on ladder rungs, going down stairs, and when walking on rocks plus I can see them protecting against stepping on a nail or screw.

great for my sprained toe
its exactly as advertised, its thick and very stiff, which keeps my sprained toe from bending. im a size 9.5, but i went down half a size to a 9, as the description stated. they say the insoles should be about half an inch shorter than your regular insole. they feel super springy underfoot, and could be used for sports too. good buy.
