Here she teamed up with bad-boy Garth Ennis to create a funny, edgy
I discovered Amanda Connor's art through DC's "Power Girl", and had to find more of her work. Here she teamed up with bad-boy Garth Ennis to create a funny, edgy, book that takes some much-needed potshots at mainstream comics. The plot is pretty simple - a prostitute is given super powers. Then she's asked to join a super-team that's a very thinly disguised version of The Justice League. Personalities and values clash. Hilarity ensues.I love how each character is not only a parody of a well-know DC hero, but also a commentary on the old clichés that still infest comics. The token black character is a dead-on commentary on how pathetic it is when middle-aged, white writers try to use street slang. Priceless.Connor's artwork is fine throughout. Her command of body language and facial expressions makes the characters come alive. Ennis walks a fine line between insightful humor and shock value. This book is bound to offend many people (comic legend Jim Steranko hated it). But if you can see past the prurient nature, it's well worth reading.

Good read
This is one of the best enjoyable comic book that I have read in a long time. From page to page, it keeps you amused and right out chuckling over the dialog and illustrations. Not your conventional superhero, the Pro definitely needs more adventures and I would love to see more stories of her. Hats off to the creative team. If you buy nothing else, this one is a must for your collection.

We get it, she's a potty mouth
There's not much to this comic. She's a prostitute with a potty mouth. We get it.I found the black characters especially absurd. They're overly stereotyped such that I think whoever wrote their parts has never known or possibly never even seen a black person in their lives. The story, the conflicts, the ending... they all fall pretty flat. It's like something I would've written when I was in 8th grade. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone unless they asked me, "What's the crappiest comic storyline you've ever read?"

Arrived in perfect condition. However, had to get sleeves for them. Very fast delivery and read the comic book previously. Would order again.

Funny
Tongue in cheek humor at its best. The laughs are worth the read.

What a funny read!
This is such a funny comic to read over. One of the few I have ever read with replay value. I had to get it, and I greatly enjoy Garth Ennis's work.

Bent during delivery, bad flimsy packaging.
Damaged collector's item, bummer. The quality of the book itself is really high and good, but ruined by the packaging used, something sturdier like cardboard as packaging would have probably helped. The comic book itself is excellent, just a shame that such a nice quality collector's book was bent so haphazardly during delivery. Can't display this.

Must have sense of humor to enjoy
This was so offensive and simultaneously so funny that I wasn't sure what to think of it at first. But, I have to say, I enjoyed it and would buy more tales of the Pro if any follow.

So wrong its right
Why is it always the clean-cut kids who end up as superheroes? Well they don't anymore - The Pro is definitely from the wrong side of the tracks and will make no apology for it. A single-mum sex worker given fantastic powers and invited to join a noble group of heroes who have never seen anything quite like her. This book is great fun, its well written and nicely drawn. Not for the prudish but sits proudly in my comic book collection.

Definitely amongst my favourite superheroes
I picked this up as I've been reading quite a few graphic novels recently and Garth Ennis seems to be writing the majority of my favourite stuff.I was 50/50 after reading the reviews and thought it might be a bit young for me. A lot of people seemed to deem this book for the under 16 market. I have to say I'm not sure why. I stopped reading graphic novels years ago because I couldn't stand Spider-Man, The Hulk, Ghost Rider or the Green Lantern anymore which were all my favourites. Since getting back into graphic novels I've been reading what I would consider to be more adult stuff like The Boys, Locke and Key, American Vampire, Preacher and so on and I thought this fit in nicely with them.I have a feeling after reading a lot of reviews on Amazon that a lot of people seem to think that profanity either means immaturity or a limited vocabulary. I don't agree with either train of thought. I don't claim to be an English professor but living in Scotland people are often found using swearing as a term of endearment or to emphasise a point which I have no f*$%ing issue with whatsoever. lolIt all feels like a bit of a rant but to be fair the humour is low brow but I definitely wouldn't say it was for the kids market. I'm 31, have a wide range of interests and consider myself pretty well read and I found this to be extremely entertaining so if you don't have a stick up your butt about dirty jokes and swearing I think you'll rather enjoy this one. Definite five stars from me.

before I retired I took it to work and it was liked by all
I purchased this book some while ago, and on first reading (and second and third....) found it a breath of fresh air (or a breath of something). before I retired I took it to work and it was liked by all., women as well as men. Why cannot she be entitled to become a superhero, after all she is in the oldest profession in the world.
