Good model toy and interesting to build

The precision and detail of this contraption amazes me. It was fun to assemble, though I did need to use gentle taps with a lightweight hammer occasionally and I managed to split a couple of the tiniest wooden pegs, but there were plenty of spares. I also put the biggest cog in the wrong way round at first so the balls wouldn't roll in and out of it. Should have looked more carefully at the pictures. That was very fiddly to change once everthing was assembled but I managed eventually. Took a few days to finish but it sits neatly on my bookcase, on a timber base (not supplied), and I play with it most days. Best when two balls travel up together then split and come down different ways! I am in the process of making a dust cover for it out of thin wood and plastic sheet because I don't fancy trying to dust it without destroying it.

Bought as a Xmas gift, kept them busy for a few days!It's a functional model and is reasonably well built. Some of the smaller parts in the crank mechanism are a bit fragile though and required a bit of gluing together. There were a couple of spares for some of the other small parts which is good.

Enjoyed making this and watching the marbles run round although it doesnt run too smoothly each time and the ball doesnt go up properly so had to tweak it. Got it on offer and would say it was worth what I paid.

Having just finished building this I must say I was very impressed with the precision of the laser cut parts and the quality of the wood used. This is definitely a quality product. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow and I had no need to use any glue as the fitting of the individual parts to each other were all a "snug fit". Some spare parts are included, the two rails of one of the topmost marble runs and various fixtures & fittings. I thought that was a neat touch as some of the parts are very small and if you were ham fisted enough, could break if not assembled correctly. As a bonus, the marble run worked first time with no "tweaking" required. Would I recommend this product? Unreservedly YES.

enjoyabl to construct

I am neither an engineer nor a model maker. I found this marble run easy to construct, although time consuming, as the instructions were easy to follow, once I grasped the logic behind them! The pieces needed little "finishing" but I needed to use a small craft knife to remove a few "snags". A small hammer and a block of wood helped when some pieces were a bit stubborn. I have arthritis in all my fingers and thumbs, but this did not stop my enjoyment. The joy experienced when the first ball successfully returned to "base" was exhilarating! Altogether a well engineered and manufactured model! Excellent! (There were a few bits left over and I shall contact Robotime about this!)
