Are the windows open to the inside so if a small light was placed inside, it would emanate to the outside?

Yes, you are correct, the windows are "open", in other words you can see inside the house through the window.
Just to be clear though, there is no "glass" and the window is a physical opening.

How big is the space inside the house?   Is it completely open on the bottom so it sits on the dirt, or is that a floor/bottom?

Thank you for your question about this Enchanted Fairy House.

The house is hollow and does not have a floor. There is a narrow edge though where it sits on the dirt. The width of this "edge" varies but is about 1/2".

The inside is completely hollow and has the same shape than the outside walls.

How does this item fair in the rain?

Thank you for your question about this fairy garden house.

All our items are "mini pieces of art" and are not meant to be robust.
The items can be placed outdoors, but an element of care is required.

Try to avoid full exposure to the sun for the whole day long.

Rain itself is not an issue, but running water may cause some damage.

The more protected it is, the longer enjoyment you will have.

These are general guidelines as each setting is different and we cannot be too specific, not having more detail.

If Prettman's claim to be from Australia etc.  how come country of orgin for this house is China?

We (Pretmanns) are based in Brisbane Australia.
We design, market, and manage our products from here.

However, the products are manufactured in China.
The "origin" tells where the product was manufactured.

You will find that most of the fairy garden products on Amazon are manufactured in China, but the Sellers of those products will be from many different countries.
