DK South Africa (Travel Guide)

I have a DK about South Africa from 2006, and what a difference this one is (not in a great way). First, gone are the glossy pictures. Now, they're matte. Also, the older DKs had many more inset photographs, more about the local social scenes (the 2006 version has a section on LGBT, whereas this 2023 version doesn't have a hint). Also, there are not a lot of external references (websites, etc.) for up-to-date information.The newer version isn't without its merit, however. In typical DK Eyewitness style, it's a packed guide with many well-written passages that draw you in and keep you reading until your back hurts from sitting.Get this guide if you're going to South Africa. Just don't expect it to be as good as they used to be.

I bought the book to refresh my memory about what I saw in S Africa when I was there a few weeks ago but it didn’t contain many of the sites we visited.
