Excellent, robust, simple and it works.
I have a Windows 8 PC with a HDMI and DVI output and a Windows 7 PC with DVI output. Both had their own monitor. I wanted to be able to use two monitors on the Win 8 machine but did not have the cash or desk space for a third monitor. This switch shares the second monitor between the two PCs effortlessly. It is not elegant or flimsy, it looks and feels like it was built to last. You switch between machines by pressing one of two buttons on the front, these are not soft touch and work with a satisfying clunk. More important: they work, every time.I did consider a KVM unit but could not find a reasonably priced and reliable unit. , with wireless keyboard and mice it is easy to put a set to one side as you use the other so the fact that this only controls the monitor (I have not tested audio) is not a problem. Very pleased with this purchase and would recommend to anyone who wants to share a DVI screen between two PCs (from other reviews other devices too).

Works perfectly - some build quality niggles, but does the job well
Cheap and works exactly as advertised.Product has two inputs, one on each side, and a single output at the back, with the two push-buttons on the front selecting between the inputs. Push to select. They engage with a satisfying click. You can have either or none. The unit itself is solid. However the construction is of cheap plastic. There is a visible seam. The buttons have a little wiggle in them. But the actual connections are solidly built, the switching mechanism works well and the little plastic gripper feet are a thoughtful touch. Would recommend (and am probably going to buy a few more of them).

Inexpensive, and works well
I have two graphics cards in my early-2009 Apple Mac Pro, and one monitor. This gizmo allows me to switch from one graphics card to the other at will, which is very useful (I won't bore you with the details why).Yes, it's a fairly cheap plastic box, but it works perfectly. The switch buttons engage with a satisfying clunk, and I have had no problems with it so far. If you need a DVI switch-box, you won't go far wrong at this price.

limitations
Works really well - most programs are fine - iTunes has some green fuzziness on the artwork, not really a problem, and a few other programs (eg playing a video on media player) has the same small issue but using SONAR 8 (a powerful music software program) causes some very nasty lines to keep appearing on the screen making the switch unusable. Shame as it would have been really useful item otherwise.Interestingly my newer computer had no issues when the switch was on that one even with a powerful video effects program (hitfilm) so it may just be less compatible with an older video card...Hope this helps :-) I'll just have to go back to unplugging and plugging in...

Horrible display quality
On a static desktop I was getting sparkles and false colour where graduations of colour were present. Plus the image was dull and blurry.Avoid.

Would give a higher review if mine worked
Switching to the other DVI input shows a block screen. I have to unplug the other one for it to work. It's almost pointless even having it in this state. The instructions appear to show the same step twice as well.

Dvi switch box
I bought this product so i could connect my computer to it's screen and my PlayStation 3 to my computer screen as well. it seems to work fine and do the job. i have a hdmi lead from my ps3 to a hdmi to dvi converter then it goes into the switch bow. the computer is just a dvi to the switch the i have a high quality dvi cable from the switch to the screen. the over all length of my set up is about 5 maters and iv had no problems. for the price this product is good. as iv seen no other product similar in this prices range.

Well made, does the job.
I wanted to share a DVI based monitor between two PC's. This switch does a very good job with a few short comings.1) The switch is manual with push buttons, so if you power down one PC the switch does not automatically switch over to the remaining active PC.2) The input sockets are on the side instead of the back, so with stiff DVI cables the switch takes up a lot of space. Why couldn't they all come out of the back?3) Maybe not a fault of the switch, but if I power up a PC (but the monitor isn't connected because the switch is pointing to the other PC), it's almost impossible to get the monitor to talk to that PC afterwards. Also the desktop icons have moved. In other words you have to make sure the switch is pointing to the right PC before powering up.
