Perfect for learning Greek Mythology
This was a gift to a nine year old nearly 10 years old. Mythologies are part of the studies this year. This is a very well crafted, detailed, depiction of Athena with the owl for wisdom and sight, the shield with the head of Medusa, and her in war armament. Be careful with the spear, it is removable, and although the speak has a "stop" to keep it from slipping through, one needs to be careful with the spear. I like, especially for girls, that the goddesses were as powerful in skills for humans and important as well as god representations. Athena's providing the olive tree is a wonderful story.The girl I gave this to was thrilled! What an unexpected gift and an important addition to her room. Her parents were pleased as well. I think she will have this for years.This is worth the price point.
