Value in Versatility
I researched tirelessly before deciding to buy this rod. The only knocks I can give it so far are likely a result of the price. For 150 dollars you can get more durable rods than this. And if you’re only interested in one type of fishing I. E. Spinning or fly fishing, there are other rods that will beat this one at the price. However, considering what you get, I might buy this over a nicer rod at this price simply to have the option. The rod feels durable but the material looks to have been pressed only in one direction, horizontally. (I could be wrong but it’s all I can see) So this rod doesn’t bend side to side or at weird angles as well as other rods. But, what other rods can be used for inshore sea fishing and still be a 4 ft fly rod? None. This is the only one. And it does work great as an everyday fishing pole, so far. The case is very well made, and fits in my 25L backpack with two backpacking camp chairs, my tackle box, and a blanket. You can’t find a more versatile rod even from the best brands, this one is also highly portable. As a backpacker, I will take this with me on trips without the carry case because the internal bag still ties shut. The only other thing to highlight is there aren’t 25 different setups like advertised. Around half that. They count the same set up with spin reel and a bait caster as two different set ups. Who are we kidding? But, that doesn’t change my opinion on the product at all. Which is a testament to what this is: the most versatile fishing rod at a remarkably reasonable price. If the length doesn’t matter to you, I’d look at their x5 max. Same price, two reels, more or less the same pole. The only difference is a little less variety. This brand will also sell parts if one piece gets damaged, and they’ll replace parts while it’s under warranty. I haven’t had to use this, they say on their website they won’t replace parts if you buy third party, but they’ll sell them discounted. However, this is sold from rigged and ready, just on Amazon, so I’d assume they’d replace? I’m not sure.Bottom line, I would recommend this to anyone from a beginner all the way to advanced anglers that want to have something easy to move around. So far, nothing short of what I was hoping for. Great product, good brand. If you aren’t sold yet, it also came with some pretty neat stickers.

One kit for a season's worth of fishing styles
This is an interesting combination fishing rod kit. My initial instinct was that this might be a lot of hype and little substance, so I admit to going into this test with a bit of skepticism. Basically this is an all-in-one fishing rod, designed to accommodate pretty-much ANY type of fishing you might encounter.I was quite impressed with this kit, although I’m not sure it lives totally up to the promise. While you can put together perfectly adequate spinning, baitcasting and fly rod setups in this one kit, I think it is more limited than the advertising would have you believe. Yes, you can probably put together 25 different combinations, but not all will be totally useful. Then again, even a couple versions of casting and spinning make this kit a good value. One thing is the difficulty in reading the “instructions”. It uses really small print and it’s hard to read. Not only that, but the directions are limited in showing you how the different combinations work. One thing that would have made things easier would be to number each component. With those limitations out of the way, it does a good job of providing a medium to heavy spinning or baitcasting rod quickly (I'm not convinced about "light action). Most of what lets you change the rod from light to heavy (and all points in between) are the separate tips packed in a plastic tube. These tips cover a lot of ground. In any case, plan ahead for whatever type of fishing you plan to do that day and assemble the rod ahead of time so you won't be standing streamside trying to figure it out. Then pack it back up to travel. The parts join together tightly so the rod stays together once you assemble it. In fact most ends have a small rubber stopper to ensure a tight fit. The handles are well made and hold any type of reel I could imagine trying – I did try it with a 4000 sized spinning reel and a medium sized baitcasting reel and both fit nicely. The micro trigger handle actually does a good job of allowing both baitcasting and spinning to work well with the same handle. Guides were also nicely appointed. It’s all packed in a nylon bag for protection and then in a zippered case. The case looks tough enough to protect your rod securely. To go along with this kit, I set up a plastic travel case to carry a set of reels (spinning, baitcasting and fly) to be packed along with the rod case to remain in the trunk of my car for those opportune moments when I find a nice fishing spot (see photo).

Excellent idea middle of the line execution
it fits perfectly in a travel backpack for taking on a plane or wherever which is awesome. the case is sturdy and well put together and the packaging is great. my only complaint is that the different tips that come with it some are way too close in sensitivity it would've been better for saltwater fishing if there was some longer sturdier options. I'm sure they are great for freshwater excursions though but no so great for saltwater pier fishing

Too good to be true
First off, this travel rod is truly compact. It should fit into carry on luggage, making it much more portable than a lot of travel rods.However. I bought this hoping to use it for beach fishing - prioritizing long casting distances and higher casting weights. But the two heaviest tips are simply too thick to fit into "section 9" of the rod. Section 9 is the second-to-last piece, meaning you need to sacrifice 1' of length if you want to use one of the heavier tips.In practice, this means a good number of the 25 claimed combinations are not possible. Specifically, combinations 5, 6, 11, 12, 17, 18, 23 and 24 are not possible.

Simply Superb, Easy To Transport and Fully Customisable On Length & Whip
I'm not an avid fisherman in that I won't be going out in the rain and cold, lol but now that I'm retired I thought that I would take up my old childhood pastime once more. When I saw this freshwater rod set I hoped that it would be beginner friendly and have everything needed to get me started again.Unfortunately this doesn't come with a reel but thats pretty clear in the description had I read it first, lol, all the same I would still have ordered this kit as on opening it is nothing short of amazing. The set comes in a decent quality carry case which has a soft foam base to help protect the rod sections. Once unzipped, there is a wet bag inside which unrolls after undoing the two ties, then inside each of the long pockets is a rod section of different lengths and widths.Within this set are several handle sections for using a different length of rod once assembled, I used the longest handle section which comes as two parts. To add the next chosen section to the previous part starting from the handle, it is a simple case of selecting which type you want and then pushing it into the slot in the previous section, I found that pushing lightly and twisting it a little at the same time worked best for me.I built up the longest rod that can be made using this kit and as can be seen in one of my photos it is extremely long but pretty much any size can be produced by using different sections. In my last photo which shows the tip of the rod next to my index finger it is a very fine tip, ideal for casting.Looking at each section closely, this has been produced to a very high standard, each of the line eyelets (if thats what they are called, lol) are bound into the shaft securely and are arranged at the correct distances from each other no matter which way that you decide to build your rod up.All of the handle sections have two reel clamps which will secure the reel using a tightening of a threaded shaft sleeve which will then clamp the reel into place, aligning it perfectly with the eyelets. It has been many, many, many years since I have been fishing and there was nothing like this around when I did, I am just blown away by the overall quality and the customisations that this rod has to offer.Once the weather improves I will be on the waterways trying to catch dinner although if I'm anything like the same as when I was a child, it will be nothing much bigger than a stickleback, lol. I still need to get myself a decent reel to complement this superb fishing rod set along with the line, hooks and weights, thats something that I need to learn about again but I really can't wait to get on the riverbank together with some sarnies and a flask of hot tea.Superb fishing rod at a decent price and easy to transport in it's case.Recommended.

Compact and easy to take on the go
This is a good little rod to keep in the boot of my car for if my husband fancies a quick fishing expedition. It comes with its own case which protects the rod itself. The rod itself is quite durable and strong. The rod is a good length too. The handle is comfortable to hold for long periods too. It fits a range of reels perfectly too
