Is this one worth the extra over the £90 Sage one that makes the circular waffles?

In a nutshell, yes. This is a much better machine, the control is far more simple (even though it appears more complex), the waffles are alot thicker due to deeper plates (main concern of the "no mess" version). Having had both, i gave the other one away and kept this one, this is "the" only waffle maker you will ever need or want, much much better than the round one.

Does this have a warranty?

I don't remember and I'm not sure that this warranty works outside of UK.

I have just ordered this and expect delivery tomorrow. Has anyone got a good low carb waffle recipe they would share?

Mmm you need milk to make the waffles...how about coconut or almond milk? Are they better regarding carbs? I use gluten free flour & I substitute a spoonful of sugar with coconut sugar. I got my recipe from Jamie Oliver...150g self raising flour, 240ml of milk, 1 egg, I tsp of vanilla extract, 1 tsp sugar, 1 tsp of baking powder! The mixture makes approx 2.5 waffles! They’re fab! I make them for my children every other day & they adore them! Happy waffle making! :)

Are the non stick plates free from harmful PTFE and PFOA?

I expect that because its quality is high
