I turned out that the top of the chair back is too low for it to really be useful. Now if I recline in the chair it is useful.The smell definitely lingers. I think I used it for a couple of weeks and it was still strong.I no longer use it, but when I bought it I knew it was going to be a gamble if it was going to be useful or not.

This was the exact product I was looking for as a neck rest for my chair. The only problem with it is that the way it attaches to your chair isn't very stable. It can easily slide off or fall off when something makes contact with it. I think it was designed specifically for a chair that has a thicker backrest. The middle part of the foam is softer than the sides which is fine. I kind of wish it was softer throughout instead of just the middle part, since this can slide from side to side.

So first of all, the product works as intended especially for a flat topped back rest. Simply just slot it in and it's good to go. HOWEVER, the only bad thing about this is the disgusting and super toxic smell. The moment you open the plastic bag, your entire living space will be filled with what smells like burnt tires. I am almost 100% sure that the smell can't be good for you health-wise in the long run. After doing some investigation, it looks like the top layer is coated in a rubber like material, very possibly the same material found in car tires (which likely would explain the smell of burning tires). Like this is beyond absurd. I don't know if this is an oversight by the production/QC team (which if it is, it's a rather SEVERE ONE), or if it was done knowingly just to cut down on the costs to make profit. If it is the latter, then the company/seller of this product should be banned for selling such a product that poses HEALTH RISK, i.e. emphysema, dermatitis, asbestos, carbon black, PAHs, Talc, N-nitrosamines, etc (and/or potentially fatal ones: leukemia, lung, bladder, or larynx cancer...).For this reason, I will be sending this back ASAP and I highly do NOT recommend anyone getting this until they take note this review, along with many other ones previously complaining about the toxic odor, and hopefully replace that material with something non-toxic.
