Very clean
When you rehydrate this Sphagnum it’s quite a lot in volume like poof. Great value for the amount. I use it for reptiles and plants. Seems real clean with no smells.

Great for plant poles
I was trying to make my plants poles as purchasing one big enough woukd cost too much for my sad budget. And my monstera is growing super fast and needed a really long pole.So I ordered the spagnum moss, got some long bamboo sticks from the gardening section, and some twine.Hydrated the moss and tied it a bundle of 3 bamboo sticks and used the twine to connect it, tying knots regularly. Then went back over it crisscrossing the twine and tying knots several times. The moss held together good enough to wrap up a whole pole. I would wring out the water from the moss as i went.On occasion I will mist the spagnum moss with water to rehydrate it, which also helps keep some moisture around my plant.

MOSS MEDIOCRITY: PLANT BEDDING BLEND 🌿🔍⚠️ [⭐⭐⭐☠️☠️]
Jay Fray here with a balanced take on this Riare sphagnum moss that's neither impressive nor disastrous. 🧐Purchased this 2.2 lb bag for my small collection of carnivorous plants and orchids 🪴, expecting decent quality for the price point. The moss arrived in a sealed package that protected it from moisture during shipping, which was a positive start. ✅Quality is decidedly middle-of-the-road. The fibers are longer than the cheap stuff from big box stores but inconsistent throughout the bag—some areas had beautiful long strands while others contained mostly chopped fragments. 🌱 The moisture level was appropriate for storage, not too dry or damp. 💧When rehydrating for use, the moss absorbed water reasonably well 🚰, though it required more thorough soaking than premium brands I've used. Color is natural with a mix of green and tan fibers, which looks fine in terrariums but not particularly vibrant. 🟢🟤The pH level seems appropriate for acid-loving plants 🧪, as my Venus flytraps haven't shown any signs of stress after transplanting. However, I did find more non-moss debris than expected—small twigs and unidentifiable bits that required picking through before use. 🔎🧹Jay Fray verdict: A functional but unexceptional growing medium for the price. 💰 It works adequately for most applications but lacks the consistent quality and pristine cleanliness of premium brands. Fine for casual plant enthusiasts, but serious collectors of sensitive species might want to invest in higher-grade options. 🌱👍👎
